This is almost complete opposite of the kind of music I listen to.

I can say, I thoroughly did not enjoy listening to this at all.

well, I don't like to make assumptions about people...and I could be way off with this one. But I'd say, judging by your username your idea of a great drum track is someone having a seizure on a 20 piece drumset while the lead singer violently vomits into a microphone.
