For some reason I suddenly can't post pics without typing it out, including the [img] [/img] parts; and when I try to post youtube vids in the What is everyone listening to? thread they don't get formatted, so only show up as links instead of as a player with video.

I've logged out and back in, disabled pop-up blockers and anti-virus programs, and nothing seems to work.

I haven't changed anything on my end from when it used to work, so I don't know what's up.

The YouTube issue has always been that way: you can't post https links and have them autoformat. Just change the https to http in the URL and it will work.

As far as images, that's on your end. It works for me:

Never had to do that before, and slb has been posting vids in that thread nonstop without adjusting anything.

I understand the problem may be on my end; I'm just hoping somebody can clue me in to what's going on.

I never had problems posting pics using the image icon in the frame menu before; that just started about 2 months ago. Now when I click on that icon, it brings up a separate frame asking for the link url, and when I put it in and click okay it just stays there; the frame doesn't disappear and the pic isn't displayed... I then have to type out the %20, and paste the link between them.

EDIT: I just had to come back and edit this because even though I clicked on "quote" Wade's message, it didn't actually do it the first time; I had to attempt to quote it again and copy his post, and then paste it in this reply.

Right, and SLB is posting non-https links (quote her posts and you can see the URL is http and not https). That has been that way for as long as IPB (the forum software) has been autoformatting.

The image think has to be something on your end. What browser are you using?

IE8 or 9 in Windows 7. Same browser I've always used because I can't stand Firefox or Chrome.

Why would her links show up as http and mine show up as https if we're copying the same links but from different computers?

Also, when I'm typing in this reply box, if it's in the format that has all the icons above available, it will constantly skip letters and the cursor is blinking very fast. When I click on the format icon in the upper left corner to change it to just text, then it types out every letter without fail. So, essentially, I have to keep switching the format repeatedly in every message if I want to use any of the icons in the menu above.

There is a YouTube setting to force SSL on all links, and it's on a user-by-user (or computer-by-computer) basis. She doesn't have it turned on, you do.

As for the images, try turning on Compatibility Mode (or turning it off if it is currently on for *.sectalk.com): http://www.sevenforu...w-turn-off.html

In internet options should I have use SSL 2.0 and use SSL 3.0 checked or unchecked, and would that affect the youtube settings? I can't seem to find the You tube setting that allows me to turn that on or off.

I already had compatibility mode turned off for this site because when it's on everything runs together and isn't legible.

I don't think the browser settings affect the YouTube URLs. And I think the SSL/https option is more of a global Google option. Do you use gmail? And if so, do you also log into Youtube with that same Google account? If so, there is a setting in gmail options to always use https, and I think it impacts all of Google's services. There's always the case that I am wrong about all of this, and the http/https option for videos is something completely different.

And I'll keep looking into the picture problem, not sure if Compatibility Mode would have fixed it, but that's usually my first guess for problems when the browser is IE.

Thanks for all the help; some pretty irritating stuff.

Once again, when I clicked on "Quote" in your post, your quote didn't show up in the reply box, and I had to change the reply format to text and click on "Quote" again for it to appear.

I have had an issue where sometimes when I click "Quote" it doesn't work, not sure what causes it. But mine's temporary and usually goes away after I refresh the page, not sure what's causing your issues. I'll figure it out eventually.
