If there was ever a year to do it, it was last season. It was so wide open with all the powers the lowest they'll probably be this decade, and a solid Missouri team took advantage of that. I'll give them credit where it's due, they were close to getting back to the SECCG. It would have been a good game against Auburn, but they were so hot at that time I don't think anyone in the nation could stop them.

Anyway, I would like to say he would win one in the next 1-3 years, but I don't think it will happen.

You have to ask at some point how much longer the Ole Ball Coach has left in him. It seems once coaches hit a certain age, they lose some of the fire and intensity that served them so well before. And there's nothing worse than a coach that should have quit a long time ago being forced to head off into the sunset, not as a conquering hero, but at gunpoint.

Now, Spurrier isn't at Mack Brown/ Bobby Bowden stage by any means. But it does happen, even to the best of them.
I'm certain the national media is relieved. They can kiss State's ass and go back to the old "Ole Miss is Waycist" narrative. Meanwhile I hope Gameday has fun in Morgantown. Look out for burning couches!

If not this coming season it will probably be 3-4 years. We lose a lot off the defense next year so it'll be hard to settle in. If we can beat A&M and UGA to start the year I think we have a good shot in 2014. Fortunately we get both teams at home and both will be breaking in new QBs. UGA may give us problems though with their running game. We also get Mizzou at home.

But even if we don't win it next year I think Spurrier has a good shot in the next few seasons. He's determined, and as long as he's winning he'll keep going. His ego will push him, because that's the one thing most people said he couldn't do here. He's accomplished a hell of a lot of firsts here, just not that. I don't see him giving up.

Probably, but he needs to hurry before Florida and Tennessee regenerate.

I give him a 50/50 shot before he retires. He's come about as close as he can.
