That one is terrible. No Missouri, Georgia at 11 (!!) and Texas A&M at 16 (!!) is just outrageous. Florida at 25 is there on name and name alone. They did nothing this year to warrant themselves as a preseason top 25 team for next year.

The USAtoday article is much more accurate, imo. I don't know what the heck Schlabach is thinking.

I like the fact that Texas isn't in this one. Maybe they won't be ranked just because they are Texas next year.

It's what he was drinking, not thinking.

I did think the Gators kinda got the Texas treatment on that ranking, but I'm cool with it.

At positions we were loaded at. Lose Sam and Ealy but everyone knows that our D-Line was loaded and Shane Ray and Golden will take over as starters. Then we lose Franklin but get an obvious upgrade with Maty Mauk. We lose Washington and Lucas at WR but everyone knows how deep our WR's were this year(even though they had butter hands in the bowl game). Then we return 3 OL's but we do lose EJ Gaines but we did great when Gaines was out this year so I see no problem with us being a Top 10 team again next year. We get all three running backs back as well.

After he got called out on his terrible list he used the excuse that it is too early for the rankings.

"If you really think Mizzou is going to struggle because they only return 11 starters, you have no idea what you are talking about.
Mauk is an upgrade at QB. At WR, MU returns starter DGB, Bud Sasser, Levi Copelin, Darius White, and Jimmie Hunt, who all saw playing time this year. 6'4" Sophomore J'mon Moore is supposed to be a stud, and there's 4* commit Nate Brown coming in. All 3 RB's returning. 3/5 starting offensive linemen return, with Anthony Gatti (who played a few games for injured starter Max Copeland) and 4* commit Andy Bauer filling in. 6'6" Sean Culkin replacing Eric Waters at TE. I'd say the offense improves. D-line returns Golden, Ray, Hoch, Vincent, Augusta, Brantley, all of whom had significant playing time this season. LB returns starter Kentrell Brothers, we get to see what Sophomore and 4* recruit Eric Beisel can do, and we've got 4* recruit Brandon Lee coming in. Duron Singleton (or anyone) will be an improvement for Matt White at safety, starter Braylon Webb returns at the other safety spot, Aarion Penton (who played very well for injured EJ Gaines) will step in at corner, with Gibson, Johnson, or one of our several CB recruits at the other corner position. If a few players can step up, next years MU team will be as good if not better than this years."

Comment off ESPN. Sums it up perfectly.

Schlabach is an idiot, no surprise his Top 25 is a horror show. No Mizzou, UGA that high with a garbage defense and no Murray, Alabama at no.2 despite a new QB and question marks in their secondary, despite the fact that Auburn returns pretty much everyone? A&M that high with no Manziel and that abortion of a defense? LSU with question marks and losing their QB, RB, and one of the best blocking backs in the game?

If this is the top 25 teams in the nation then I'm changing my outlook on the MAC staff, because we could legitimately beat half the teams on it.
