Yall got auBURNED, by a faster luckier team.  That and your defense gave up an 80 yard drive in just 1 min 6 sec in the final 1:19 of the game.  That'll get you beat every time.  You gave up an 80 yard drive late to UGA in just 22 secs late in that game too. It was a miracle that AU won that one.

Hmmmm.  How long was the drive in your signature?  Count up another lucky win for Abuurn this season.

Auburn got away with several calls last night but FSU definitely got away with more... And the penalties called on Auburn definitely hurt us more. FSU may have lost one point to the celebration penalty, but as you pointed out, we definitely lost 3 (and probably 7) on that piss poor holding call.

The refs didn't make us lose, though. We had chances to win and didn't do what we had to do. Well, Tre Mason did, but nobody else on the team stepped up in the second half.

It's all about timing with the refs.  For example:

Bama drives and scores, stops OU,driving again, no call on defensive holding that leads to an INT and an OU TD.  So instead of a 14-0 Bama lead you have a 7-7 tie.  The officials curbed Bama's MO and gave OU confidence.

Last night you get a no call on pass inter. and then call back the third down conversion.  If Auburn scores there it is 28-3 at the half not 21-10.

Then the officials let meaningless calls ride at unimportant times or for example don't call the horse collar tackle on AU after FSU has that long pass.  FSU has the MO so they let it ride because i) the team they want has the MO and ii) it gives them cover b/c they "missed" some in Auburn's favor.  Same in the Sugar when they let holding ride on both O-lines.

Or how about when ESPN's beloved Ohio State gets a real team in the Orange Bowl and Clemson has 15 flags thrown on them.  The refs kept all the big bowls close and made sure that the SEC lost two big ones to keep the rest of the country interested in college football.

If we continue to humor these Missouri Yankees they will start to actually believe they are really in the SEC.  Ppffffftttttt.....Yankees in the SEC....that'll be the day!

I wasn't really paying attention last night, but I can say w/ confidence that refs notwithstanding, Bama made sure that Bama lost the Sugar Bowl.

He's probably referring to the fact that FSU didn't get called for about 47 holding penalties last night. But what can you do. Auburn had a phenomenal season and we're back. The future is bright on the plains.

You must have forgotten the Barn has never been outplayed by another team. Either refs or they just didnt show up. Even last season, this years turnaround proves that those players just didn't show up for any games last year.

Anybody else think mason looked exhausted in the second half. Dude was takin some deep breaths with his hands on his hips. Did auburn not have another RB that could carry the load?

Scoring with "too much time left" means that your defense is shit.  When you need a TD you take it whenever you can get it.  There is no guarantee that you won't fumble the exchange on the next snap or be shut out or have the clock expire or miss a field goal or etc.  You put all of the burden and stress on the other team when you take the lead.

The only people blaming refs here are non-Auburn fans.

...you sure you didn't confuse Mason with the FSU defensive line? I didn't see Mason look tired a single time the whole game.

Well, formatting fail there.

The point is, :lanekiffin: the play calling in the third quarter and part of the fourth quarter.

Isnt this the same mistake he made in the 4th Q of the UGA game? The difference being ONE pass by Marshall in each game.

Poorly timed penalties and way too many Marshall passes are definitely what did us in against UGA.
