Tell me why Les Miles keeps his job. I know that we don't have many LSU fans on here, but that doesn't mean we can't engage in conversation about the Bayou Bengals. But let's look at facts.

1.) Your two biggest rivals are passing you by. One already has,and the other is on its way. Saban has won three NC in five years at Alabama. Gus Malzhan is at Auburn one season and takes them from 3-9 to 12-1 and is about to play for the schools second NC in four years. The last time Miles won a NC was in 2007, a lifetime ago in this conference. Let's add in the fact that they were absolutely embarrassed the last time they played for one.

2.) He pretty consistently loses to teams he should beat. See Clemson last season in the bowl game and Penn State before that. He lost to an inferior Ole Miss team this season and was beaten by Alabama by double digits for the second time in the last three meetings.

3.) Demonstrated, and has continued to do so several times, that he has no clue whatsoever about clock management.

4.) He recruits in the top fifteen every season, yet still has to wait out nail biters against a 3-9 Arkansas team and a 4 win Arky team last season. He has all of the talent he could ask for and top notch facilities and support yet basically has to bust his ass to get to double digit wins every year.

5.) Speaking of earlier recruiting, he is constantly edged out by Saban at Bama. The coaching gap between the two might as well be the grand canyon. The talent gap is getting there.

So, I just ask you, why is he still employed, and would you keep him on. Go.

I have to wonder why someone from a school that hasn't beaten LSUx since 1999 is concerned about Leslie's job?

Potential reasons, in my mind:

1. @1dawgfan09 is looking to finally break the nearly two-decade curse by potentially catching LSUx during a time of transition/down year?

2. It grinds his gears that, since the 1992 expansion, LSU only holds a 13-9 lead over Ole Miss and is only 3-3 vs Ole Miss in the last 6 years?

3. Dan Mullen to LSUx?   /s

On a more serious note, the LSUx fans that I am friends with tell me that "We win in spite of Les". Take that as you will, I suppose.

He's just not going to compete for a NC every year in the West. Not with the likes of Saban to deal with. With GM I'm not just totally sold, TAMU is tough, and the west in general is a tough side of the SEC. I mean Saban is a monster and he's not going to the NC. I wouldn't jump ship on Les just yet because basically you have to replace him with a coach like Saban to do better and who fits that mold out in the coaching pool? Nobody.

Who do you get to replace him? Who out there is going to do more than Miles? He has a stout D and is working out the issues on O, has BCS titles. Is a prime candidate for getting into a playoff most years. Yes he is a bit odd at times but he is in the top 5% of guys in the college ranks right now.

Auburn is LSU's 2nd rival? I'd say It's Arkansas or Ole Miss

I don't care to look it up but hasn't he had 10 win seasons every year? Who replaces him that you're certain can do better? He has his vices but his accomplishments outweigh them, imo

Compared to saban, his biggest competition, what are his accomplishments

A good game usually between 2 good teams doesn't necessarily make them historical "rivals"

Before Saban got there,LSU wasn't very good.Saban got them going and Les has kept them in the national discussion each year since Saban left.

Maybe they're smart enough to realize that one wrong move coaching wise could return them to suck status.
