it's about making it as hard and dangerous as possible for people to excercise their rights thus discouraging them from doing so.  It's about turning people who are harming no one and otherwise law abiding, into criminals in an effort to strip them of their rights.  Anyone who says otherwise is a liar...

Why is their an assumption of guilt with anyone owning a firearm? Why single out firearms owners to set limiting factors on exercising a constitutionally protected right?

Would you be in favor of registration of all journalist in this country? Back ground checks and suspension of of 4th amendment rights to exercise a freedom of the press?

He's for whatever it takes to put people he disagrees with in jail. When the only people you can put your boot on their neck is felons, then the only solution for the authoritarian is to make everyone a felon. That's the entire goal, nothing more nothing less.

Honestly I'm for none of that BS. I was pointing out the fallacy of Nova's statement and how he is attempting to cast a negative image on those that disagree with him.

Again, registration is not about safety.  It's about making it easier to hassle you and stomp on you and generally make life miserable so that you decide not to excercise your rights.

there are some of us who seem rigid, but its because we have a philosophy and we do not compromise ideals. that is not something you can say for the republicans nor the democrats.

Illegal search and seizure much?  It doesn't matter whether they knew he had a gun or not, the search and harassment was illegal (unless the dumbass told them that they could look) and as such should not be subject to paranoid speculation about a gun registry.  When you sign up for concealed carry you are basically telling law enforcement that you have and carry a firearm for personal defense.  It's not some great secret that only you can know.

The guy was speeding and he had a righteous indignation about being pulled over.  There is more than one side to every story.  When is the last time you got put in cuffs for speeding?  It doesn't add up.

well, since you generally straddle the line and never seem to have any sort of concrete beliefs about anything (other than conservatives are bad and whatever the liberals tell you is good).

how does this make you feel?

State Sen. Nathan Dahm filed Senate Bill 1473, or what he calls the "Piers Morgan Constitutional Right to Keep and Bear Arms Without Infringement Act"

He wouldn't be the first permit holder to be put in cuffs for "officer safety" for nothing more threatening than admitting they have a permit, much less if they're actually armed.  It happened to a buddy of mine here not too long ago.  Spent a significant amount of time in cuffs while the cops ran all sorts of checks on him.  At the end of it all, you know what he ended up with?  A ticket for a busted tail light.

You always hear about how permits are supposed to serve as a marker to let cops discern between the crooks and the law abiding.  Problem is they tend to treat you like the enemy, permit or no, puting the lie to that BS.  That's why I'm an advocate for Constitional no permit carry.  If you're going to treat everyone like a criminal anyway, then the permits are pointless...
