Senior quarterback AJ McCarron was presented with the 77th Maxwell Award for the Collegiate Player of the Year on Thursday night at the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Show. He is the first Crimson Tide player to receive the prestigious award.

Not bad for a game manager... he was totally surprised too Congrats AJ Roll Tide.
"I didn't come to Alabama to win 10 games a year and be a contender. I came here to win championships, Conference Championships, and National Championships. I love it here because that's not just what I want, but what this fan base expects." -Alabama Head Football Coach Nick Saban

Better than the biased and politicized Heisman in my opinion.

Awesome achievement, Alabama's first Maxwell winner.  In other news, the Maxwell trophy is manufactured in Texas, more prove that Saban's departure is imminent.

Nice for A.J. and well deserved.

On another note, local TV did some interviews with the players at Disney last night and the interview with Johnny Football was impressive.  He came across as an intelligent, very articulate and nice individual.  Surprised me because of the negative publicity we had heard before.
