Tre Mason was hobbling Sunday night, but he was happy. He was less than 24 hours removed from surely the best day of his athletic life.Mason ran like no one in the Southeastern Conference Championship Game has ever run, running 46 times for 304 yards and scoring four touchdowns to lead Auburn to a 59-42 victory over Missouri. Just like that, he became a national sensation and a Heisman Trophy candidate. Twitter was flooded with opinions that he should be in New York City this weekend. And the going opinion is that he probably will be.
