From Pete Thamel of SI:

"From Thamel: "According to a source, Malzahn has told friends privately that coaching the Longhorns is his dream job.""

I personally think he likes it in Auburn too much, who can blame him.

And Arkansas State was his dream job before that. And Arkansas was his dream job before that.

wouldn't put too much stock into that.

The "Source" is Jimmy Sexton, who is currently negotiating with Auburn for Malzahn's raise for next season. Thamel heard from Sexton and ran with it, as he does all Auburn rumors.

He has a history of publishing every negative thing he hears about Auburn, going back to his time at the New York Times.

Why does anyone assume Mack Brown will be out?
Maybe if they win the Big12 he'll retire, but I doubt they'll win it and I doubt he'd do that.

If I were Texas, I'd only fire Mack if I had a big-time replacement
