I was not blessed with the best head of hair. I'm 25 years old and I have a legit thinning/starting-to-bald spot on the very top of my head. I usually keep my hair cut pretty short to make the spot less noticeable, but I'm tired of it being the first thing I notice whenever I have a picture taken from behind me.

I've considered for a while shaving my head entirely, but I am a little apprehensive about such a drastic change. I was hoping to hear some firsthand experiences from you guys who've done it before. Did you get treated differently after you shaved your head? Did you like the difference or hate it? What are some positives/negatives?

I shaved my head when I started thinning on top. I never regretted doing it. You have to have a decently-shaped dome, though. If you have a flat spot or an egg-shaped skull- don't do it. And if you have any big scars or irregularities,  don't shave it- unless you've recently gotten a call-back as an extra in the next "The Hills Have Eyes" sequel.

Ask your barber/stylist what they think.

Got a big scar on the right side of my head and big ears so I generally don't go smooth but I did when I worked outside in summer.

Still keep it high and tight.

And if you have a stylist, ask yourself, "where did my testicles go?"

Just go Kenny Chesney and wear a hat at all times or a toboggan like Zack Brown..

Figure out what shape your face is. Some shapes look better than others when bald. But you can do things like lose weight(if you're overweight) or add facial hair styles that will compliment your face shape to help maintain aesthetics.
