Writes SI’s L. Jon Wertheim:

“McCarron might be almost as well known for his arm candy as his arm strength, his body ink as his body of work. But let’s be clear: He’s not just one of the great Alabama quarterbacks. AJ McCarron is on the short list of the most successful players in the history of college football. Even if not many think of him that way. …
“Then again, if you want to build a case for McCarron, you could do worse than starting here: He has as many national championships as he does defeats.”

Not that McCarron is bad by any means but let's be honest - you could put a lot of different college QB's on that team and they'd win all the time just like him. McCarron would be another Murray at Georgia but probably with less prolific numbers.  He isn't "one of the best" but he is a solid quarterback.

Agreed.

I just give him credit for actually making the throws, some have been pretty prolific.

I actually think McCarron is a really good pocket passer

I've always thought AJ to be the smartest, if not the most talented, of the SEC QBs.  A nice tribute to him and to the Alabama faithful.

His uncanny ability to not make mistakes and be in the right play, his calmness and ability under pressure added to his efficiency and accuracy make him a top shelf QB.... The fact he plays for alabama is irrelevenr

I would give the egde to Murray when you compare brains.

Kids in a doctorate program already as well as close to getting his masters.

Yawn

What's crazy is I would have actively sabotaged the games and Alabama would still of won most of them because of defense and special teams even if I didn't get benched.

He's really good.

He's also a huge doucher.
