We don't need any big additions IMO, Gattis will replace McCann and Hudson being gone won't be as big of a problem considering he was injured for the latter part of last season.

Doesn't make it any less boring though.

True that, although I will have basketball and college baseball to entertain me until then. But then again, Bama sucks in both of those sports so you will still be bored

I know it's not a big-name deal, but I'd really like to see us get Eric Chavez. He makes all kinds of sense for us. Strong lefty bat for the bench (we've suddenly become very righty-heavy), gives us true corner infield depth (with Gattis at C full-time we have no true backup 1B) and he would provide great veteran leadership for a very young team. I've heard he's extremely professional/good guy on and off the field.

Over the last two years, Chavez has averaged a .281/.340/.487 slash line with around 12-13 homers while getting well over 200 at-bats mostly as a bench player. He'd be a great insurance policy to have if CJ or Freddie went down.

Going to be a yawn of a winter...

Braves GM Frank Wren doesn't expect to make a blockbuster trade or a massive signing, writes David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “But in the case of our club, I don’t see necessarily a frontline move," Wren said. "I see more support moves, where you’re adding a bat that can give you power off the bench, or adding to our bullpen, or adding to the depth of our rotation. I see more of those kind of moves than a big frontline move.

Suits me. We need some of our underperforming players to step up and we'll be fine

Thoughts on Jeff Samardzija? Lots of speculation we are looking at him.

I think he's a good pitcher with top-of-the-rotation type stuff, but he'd have to get rid of that goofy haircut.

Lets get him a nickname too

Ain't nobody got time to type that eye chart of a name he's got

When he played at Notre Dame, they called him Shark.

I'm not wowed or anything by him, but he's very solid. I liked him coming out of the bullpen more, has rotation stuff though.

Is everybody as confident af Fredi about Uggs and BJ bouncing back ? I'm not to be honest.
"Whenever I see those crimson jerseys and crimson helmets, I feel humbled to have played football for Alabama. Other players in the NFL talk to me about their schools and their traditions. I just smile knowing the immense love Alabama fans have for our school and its football program. I'm proud to be a part of that Crimson Tide heritage."

I thought we would be shopping Uggs more, but I'm sure it's because no one wants him.

Them Yanks need some more power replaced at 2B..
