1. Freddie- done
2 Heyward- good deal, not necessarily long term (which is OK if we don't get more production from him)
3. Julio- Risky, but high upside
4. Simmons- MUST GET.
5. Kimbrel- Long shot, but if it requires us to forgo other deals to keep him, might not be worth it. Closers can go from game changer to Achilles heel in one season.
6. Minor- More important than anyone but Freddie and Simmons. We need that lefty arm and he could be our ace of the future.

One interesting card in the deck is Liberty media's ability (and willingness) to keep Kimbrel in Atlanta IF THEY WANT TO.  Although it would put us over payroll, there is no doubt they could pull it off. If not, hasta la vista.

Pitchers and catchers report on Thursday, and thus will begin the Official 2014 Atlanta Braves Season Thread.

Let's get this going, already. Basketball season is depressing me.

Gonna bust out my shiny white BJ Upton avatar on that day, and then on Friday college baseball starts. Spring is on its way fellas.

The first few college baseball games are gonna be cold as hell, I won't like it but that won't stop me from going to Oxford for the games.

Agreed. I have had enough of basketball, time for some baseball.

Luckily, Auburn doesn't play basketball so I don't have to endure it.

YA'LL TOO ?????
"Whenever I see those crimson jerseys and crimson helmets, I feel humbled to have played football for Alabama. Other players in the NFL talk to me about their schools and their traditions. I just smile knowing the immense love Alabama fans have for our school and its football program. I'm proud to be a part of that Crimson Tide heritage."

We must lock up Simba and Minor.  Those two are crucial.  JHey and Julio are right behind.  We aint go a shot with Kimbrel unfortunately.

I love a Kimbrel but I don't want us giving him )15-18mm per for 6-8 seasons.

I say trade him before he becomes a free agent.
