We didn't want it more.  We wanted to do work in Gainesville instead this year.

I'll buy that. **

Saw where Pat Young is talkin Posted Image. Said that BC sucks. Granted it's true, but you don't expect a Billy D player to talk smack. Clearly someone needs to knock them off their pedestal. Their egos are getting too big. That's where we come in. ;)

 Dude, Young may be the most humble athlete I've ever heard of; not UF's most humble basketball player, but the most humble athlete of any school in any sport... guy probably has more humility than Tebow.

And it wasn't taught to him by Billy, either; he's always been that way... like a big nerd.

Academic All-American, Academic Honor Roll all the time, SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year, leading the voting for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award... hell, he even sang in the chorus for 3 years in high school. He's essentially the Tim Tebow of the basketball team.

It's hardly smack talk to conclude that a 6-19 (.240) team sucks.

I like how you still think UK will want it more.
Did they not want it more on their own home floor with College Gameday there and the 6th biggest crowd in Rupp history?

Gameday trailer is parked behind Rupp

there wasn't a more motivated group of ball players in the country that night than the UK guys; especially with all those pro teams in house and the opportunity to have their first draft audition.

Damn shame, but they probably don't even get motivated by pride for the UK program, but by an opportunity to show their stuff to the NBA scouts in attendance.

Oh c'mon, those BC players just heard that another player said they sucked. I doubt anyone wants to hear that, especially when they know they aren't good.

Im not calling him a thug.

And no, i honestly don't believe our players wanted it as badly as Florida. Im sure they wanted to win but they weren't the ones fighting for those last minute rebounds.

What was the context and source of the quote?

Was it something like an interviewer asking him his impressions about the close call against AU, and he responded with something like, "Well, it can happen to anybody; look at Syracuse, they just lost to BC, and they suck."?

If you knew Young and heard him speak, you'd have a hard time believing that he just blurted that out too... dude's a boy scout.

As I suspected; a reporter told him right after the AU game that Syracuse had lost to BC, and he said "BC? They suck.". He apologized...

Florida’s Patric Young Apologizes To Boston College On Twitter

Matt Lombardi

Well, you had to assume this was coming. Florida center Patric Young, who proclaimed that Boston College "sucks", after hearing that the Eagles had beaten previously undefeated Syracuse, has apologized for his comments. Young took to Twitter Thursday afternoon.

I regret the disrespectful comment I made after the interview last night. Boston College deserved only praise after that great win and I

Apologize for taking away from it. I hope that comment does not alter the way people think about me and I wish I could take those words back

While Young probably should have thought before speaking, post-game interviews often catch athletes at the height of their emotions. Regardless, it’s nice to see Young apologizing so quickly.

DU and UNC doing battle; it'll be hilarious if this less-than-stellar version of UNC basketball can pull the upset... it'd make the Saturday matchup between 'Cuse and DU much less of a big deal too.

Wow, UNC got Hood in foul trouble already, with 3 in the 1st 7 minutes of the game, and he's scored 11 of DU's 18 points... could mean trouble as K's already forced to bench him.

Now it's supposedly only 2 fouls on Hood, but he's still out.

UNC storms back and takes the lead on a 6-0 run with Hood on the bench.
