I didn't watch the Florida game. Was the score cut down at the very end or did Florida never pull away. Kind of surprised it ended as an 11 point win.

MSU isn't a bad club at home; their only SEC losses were on the road until we came along.

Personally, I consider EVERY double-digit road win impressive.

We stretched the lead to 13 with a little over 10 minutes left in the game, and it hovered around there the rest of the way with them never getting closer than 9 down from that point on.

I think people are a little surprised/confused because this team is better than last year's, but we aren't murdering everyone like we did most of last season.

We beat MSU in The Hump by more than 30 points last season.

Yeah, but when peronnel changes, so do the matchups, as well as the style of play.

That's always been one of BD's strongest talents; identifying what his personnel can do, and designing the offense and defense around it.

Last year we had little post presence and lots of 3-point shooters, so lots of running and gunning, but not very efficient running a half-court offense.

The ball almost never went down low to Young; so infrequently in fact, that Gator fans wondered aloud whether he'd even bother to come back for this year.

But now we have some length that can play the post, with Prather, who's only 6'6" but can leap out of the arena, attacking the rim instead of trying to be a shooter.

And there's DFS, who, at 6'8" can play the post and attack the rim, but can also step out to the 3-point line and drill shots... Murphy was similarly sized, but was a sharpshooter who was useless under the basket.

That being the case, we now play a half-court offense far more than we have since Noah and Horford camped out under the basket.

Still, we're #22 in the country in scoring margin, at 13 ppg.

Last year's Elite 8 team finished #2 at 17 ppg; the previous year's Elite 8 team finished #15 at 11 ppg; and the Elite 8 team the year before that finished #29 at 9 ppg.

So we're where we need to be, and we have a much more balanced and complete team than any of those previous Elite 8 teams... it's not do-or-die by the 3 this year.

I actually still like Muschamp long term, and people think I'm a moron.
(I might be)

I just don't think he was top notch enough for Florida, that's like a top 10 job with ease and a coordinator was hired to take it.

He's a long term hire, not a quick fix.
They want him here for 15+ years.

I'm fine with Muschamp, but he has to beat UGA next year. Muschamp can't go 0-4 against our biggest rival.

Going 0-3 is humiliating enough.

'Bout time; I never have been very impressed with most of what they put out... what's cool in Europe isn't always well-received here.

Exactly. Foley targeted Muschamp specifically, and didn't want to risk Brown retiring and Texas retaining him; or him going to a smaller school to get some experience and then run the risk of another big-time program getting him from there after we'd already hired somebody else.

It hasn't shown yet; but I definitely think Muschamp is building something strong and special... we just have to be willing to be patient with the early mistakes and lessons all new head coaches experience when learning on the job.

In the end, I think we'll love the product and be grateful that Foley is far more tolerant and patient than our average fan.

MSU is also 2X better this year than last, Rick Ray has done wonders down in Starkghanistan.

According to Chris Walsh, It'd cost us 5 mil to fire Grant at the end of the season. HIs buyout is one mil per year till his contract expiration (2019).

I don't think we'll do it.

Damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn itttttttttttttttttt.
