I hold out hope that our offensive play calling learned a lesson against okie state.
thats because your coach has basically given up on being better than 7-8 wins at best every 5-6 years. It's got more to do with examining the mentality of the coaching staff and the team than it does with their ACTUAL ability to adjust, sure M St. and every other team would probably beat their week 1 team, but the degree of improvement for state is generally LESS than the degree (or percent) of improvement for teams at schools like auburn/alabama/lsu/uga/ etc....
I know right now AU isn't in the same tier as those other schools, but I think by the end of the season, and maybe mid way through next season if you were to measure the % improvement starting at the end of 2012 AU would probably beat them all by a large % for 2 reasons, Malzahn and ellis are really good coaches (from what I've seen so far) and we were so bad last year that if we win 6-7 games this year that's a 100-200% improvement from last year.
In other words, AU fans, and most other reasonable fans, expect Auburn to eventually reach a point where we contend for the sec title. If M st ever does it will likely be considered a fluke.
I know I'm biased but I'm not trolling here.
