Per Rebel S&C coach Paul Jackson,  Robert Nkemdiche weighed in at 290lbs this morning at their monthly testing.    That ripped and 290lbs.  f'n ridiculous

So this brings me to what do other Rebel fans expect from RN?

I'll say 6.5 sacks 10 TFL and one of the bigger stories in CFB this season.

what say you?

Also.... in before a State comes in here talking shit and spelling his name like nkelfdsfndnljk

14 tackles, 2 tfl, half a sack, 13 missed tackles, 6 knock downs and a complete bust.

i'd be mightily shocked if that happened.   I can see how your expectations for highly touted Defensive ends have diminished with how Ronald Powell has sucked so far.  I can't blame you.

You mean the guy who was a rotation guy his first season, had 6 sacks in his first season starting then tore his acl after an amazing spring last year? And for what its worth he's more of an OLB

Not trying to argue here but that's underwhelming for the consensus #1 DE coming out of his class.  Especially when surrounded by elite talent.
Powell's poised for a great year and you aren't the first to tab Nkemdiche a bust. so whatever.... just pointing out I can see why you don't have faith in supremely talented Freshman DE's.  Don't blame you.

agreed....i dont expect him to be THAT disruptive on the year coming in.  its going to take some time to adjust, so i think a handfull of tfl and 4-5.5 sacks at most.  sophomore and junior years should be a different story.  maybe even a 3rd down specialist in his future....but who knows if he is ready to be an every down player.  the d end has some major defensive responsibilities so depending on whether or not he is ready between the ears, that will dictate his playing time.  he is nearly ready physically (every freshman needs some college muscle to be fully physically ready imo), so hugh's comfort level (which will largely gauge his pt or situational pt) will be the deciding factor....said captain obvious.

My comment was only a joke, but if you want to get technical he was listed as an Athlete because he could have played Tight End as well. But you're right he was surrounded by elite talent which is why he didn't play every snap every game, we could afford to have him come off the bench. 6 sacks in your first year starting is underwhelming? So if RN gets that it's underwhelming too right?

I know, so was my reply

6 sacks in 2nd year of playing, yea a little, considering how insanely athletic he is. I just watched a 230lbs LB playing DE (CJ Johnson) get 6.5 sacks in his 2nd year playing (only 10 starts, missed basically two games also) while often getting doubled. Maybe I expect too much though??

Must be nice to have that luxury...

FIRE MATT LUKE!!!!

Never remember the 22nd of November,

the day Ole Miss football flopped.
The rest of the season still gives good reason
but yesterday should always be forgot.

Robert nkemdiche didn't even have 10 sacks his senior year did he? How the heck are some expecting him to be the next great thing other than the basis of  being an athletic big guy?
