What does a Midwesterner act like? I'm excited for this one because I'm guessing the weather will be nice and even if it's not a "big" game, I'm hoping it has a good chance to be in the evening. Never spent any extensive time in Missouri either. It's just fun to see new places and new fanbases. I hope it turns into just a good game every year, like we have with LSU. Not a really rivalry, but always exciting.
The thing about Missouri is you have a huge overlap of culture. The south east portion of the state resembles Kentucky in both looks and personality. The other parts of the South are similar to Arkansas in some ways, but Central has it's own personality and actually will overlap into states like Kansas and Illinois. It's the strongest hub of sports in the State and while the majority of the southern portion of the state is agricultural country type people the people of central Missouri lose their accents and for the most part have a more "business-like" personality (southern courtesy without much of the culture? If that makes sense?). The people in St. Louis are god awful sometimes outside of the sports people, but Kansas City is a lot better as far as people are concerned and Columbia is the best as far as community goes.
Wish I could describe it better, but it's not easy to describe... All I know is I felt like a sore thumb in South Carolina as far as culture goes. I loved the people they are awesome and I loved the state, but there are definitely a few differences, but heck even Tennessee is different than South Carolina in culture so I mean you'll just have to judge us for yourself when you get here.
