True, but the same can be said for the other way around. Tebow made a ton of crucial first down runs that year to keep the drives going and keep the Gators in the game/ahead.

2 time National Champion,3 time all SEC,2 time Maxwell,3 Heisman invites and a 300 yard performance in a NFL playoff victory > 3rd place finish in the SEC west

The question wasn't who was the better player. It was who was the better passer.

Not so much "trash talk" as it was a stupid response to the question. Foot in mouth, for sure. Johnny Football better learn to handle praise/recognition/comparisons with a little more tact.

Gotta throw it over to JM on this one. Tebow never could throw worth a crap.

I haven't seen anything that shows he is at this point.

2.) didn't Manziel break just about all of Tebow's single season records??
3.) Manziel is still a better passer than Tebow

JFF has played 3 strong D's in his career and has a combined 3 TD's/3 turnovers against them. All 3 games he and Sumlins offense had strong first quarter showings then adjustments were made and they didn't do anything (The entire team had a combined 2 second half TD's against LSU,Bama and UF).

His season was impressive but he didn't prove he was a better passer than Tebow. Lets see him and this offense in it's second year before we call him the better thrower.

I don't necessarily disagree. But posting Tebow's awards and accolades doesn't really relate to the question Dumbass 1 and 2 asked the kid.

Tebow is and always has been a terrible passer. His success at UF was the product of a system. Why are people still sticking their heads in the sand about that?

Manziel thinks he's a better passer than Tebow. BFD. He probably is. That's not saying much.

And yet...

He's only Top 3 in NCAA all-time passer efficiency rating, and #1 All-time in the SEC with a 170.8 rating.

That's playing against SEC defenses, and is better than Greg McElroy (NFL), Danny Wuerffel (NFL), Ryan Mallet (NFL), Jason Campbell (NFL), Peyton Manning (NFL), Rex Grossman (NFL), Eli Manning (NFL), Matt Stafford (NFL), and Jay Cutler (NFL).

He's #2 All-time in the SEC in completion percentage at 66.4%, and #3 All-time in the SEC in TD passes with 88, 1 behind Peyton Manning and 7 ahead of Eli. He's #3 All-time in the SEC in consecutive attempts without a pick, with 203.

He's #1 All-time in the SEC in career attempts/interceptions ratio at 1 to every 62.2 attempts (16 INT's in 995 attempts). And finally, as much as he ran, his 9,285 passing yards is still good enough for #11 All-time in the SEC, as a 3-year starter.

If he had answered any other way, I would have assumed he had severe self-esteem issues.

Maybe it the offseason, but some of you just seem to be itching for something to whine about.

Wrong year. Leak was the starting QB in 2006, when Tebow played sparingly, but effectively as a freshman in that NC season.

As for 2008, shame Ole Miss let that 1 game go to their heads.

While UF went on to win the rest of their games by an average score of about 47-13 and bring home crystal, Ole Miss lost to USC at home the very next week, and then again @ Bama 2 weeks later... tough 3-week upset hangover right there.

Timmy had 55 touchdowns this season; the vid was made after his 51 regular season TD's... some pretty good-looking throws in there, if you're a Gator fan anyway.

Product of the system. Alex Smith was a hell of a great looking QB in Meyer's offense, too.

I couldn't care less what the system is... man runs down field, man is covered well, QB still hits man in stride right over the shoulder. That ain't got shit to do with system.

Bottom line is there have been plenty of great passing QB's in college who, for whatever reason, don't find the same success in the NFL.

Hell, you guys thought Eric Zeier and David Greene were the greatest things since pooper-scoopers... how'd their NFL careers turn out?

I'll tell you; Zeier threw 537 total passes, and Greene never threw a single pass, even though he holds the SEC record for yards gained.
