Nope.

Some of y'all are really missing the point.

Season 3 was the first half of book 3.

There are currently, what- 6 books with another still to be written?

Why would anyone think the battle with the White Walkers would be next season?

This.

But don't worry because things get pretty wacky

I assumed as much but it's annoying that they keep suggesting it's next.   At this point I'm bored by most of the plot so I'm just impatient.   Millions disagree though and they obviously wouldn't miss my torrent downloads if it comes to that, hah.

Kind of a melodramatic ending, but I guess Episode 8 and 9 are the big movers usually anyway.

I'm getting worried because Daenerys is becoming too awesome, he's gonna kill her daaaammit.

Brent Weeks has 2 series out that are on par with what Martin has done. Its a shame I had to find other authors to read because Martin cant finish the damn series.

I will watch the TV show when he finishes the books.

It's really hard to participate in this thread with so many of you not having read the books. Many comments I want to make I'm withholding because i don't want to tip you off to anything that happens or doesn't happen.

Well, yeah. Because when someone starts talking about the show with me and says "I'm thinking Robb Stark is going to be the one to kill Joffrey" WTF do I say to that?

I'm actually reading back through Weeks 'Night Angel Trilogy' right now. I read the first two books a few years ago, but never got around to the third one. I'll try to get through all three of them quickly this time around.

His lightbringer books are outstanding also. Naomi Novik is another solid writer in the genre.

Season 4 starts Sunday night. Can't wait.

this season will be mostly tied to the 2nd  half of the 3rd book. However, from some of the trailers you can see that there will be some elements of book 4/5 in there as well.

For those of you that don't know, Books 4 and 5 are basically set in the same time frame. the two books just focus on what's going on in different areas of the world at that time. Was pretty frustrating he did it that way, actually.
