A thread for final bracketologies, predictions, and real-time reactions to tonight's Selection Show on CBS.
99% chance my team is headed to the NIT, but even if your team is out of the running, this is one of the most highly-anticipated days of the sports year. Tonight, we find out who is going where, who matches up vs whom. Who the Cinderella stories could be, where to watch for the always-dangerous 12-5 upset.
For SEC teams, the locks:
Florida
Missouri
The teams who will have a long, stressful six hours ahead of them:
Ole Miss
Kentucky
Tennessee
Ole Miss obviously moves into the "lock" category if they score a win in this afternoon's SEC Championship Game.
Everyone else is out for the NCAA (presumably), though a collection of teams might see their name called for the NIT tonight.
So, I leave you with these two questions...
How many teams does the SEC get in?
Who will be the one seeds?

As of now, I'll say three SEC teams get into the Dance...and it could very well hinge on what Ole Miss does today (though I think the Rebels should already be in)
And for the one seeds...I'll go with Louisville as the overall number 1. They will be joined by Indiana, Duke and Gonzaga.

Doug Gottlieb's latest "bracketology" has Tennessee in...and Ole Miss....OUT.
That would be an absolute travesty to the Rebels, in my opinion. The ONLY thing the Vols have better than OM is an OOC strength of schedule. That's about it. OM won the head-to-head TWICE.

Since the Crimson Tide will be heading to the NIT, I place my hope in the selection committee to put MTSU in. Go Blue Raiders!!!

From someone who lived in the Boro over the last two years, I +++ this comment. Hope Little Middle gets their name called over one of these stupid ACC teams like Virginia or Maryland.

You lived in the Boro?! Right on man!
I mean we have the #6 OOC SOS, beat Ole Miss, and almost won 30 games. There is not much else a mid-major can do to convince the selection committee. And honestly, I have watched this team play a lot, and they would compete in the tournament this year.

I did, I'm currently back in Huntsville. But yes, I think MTSU could do some damage. It'd be a shock for a 28-win team to be left out...but Drexel did get left out after winning 27 last year...so you never can tell for sure.

This is true. Hopefully Ole Miss looks down right awful today and further strengthens MTSU's case. I wanna take a roadtrip and miss some class and see some March Madness.

SEC gets Florida, Missouri, Ole Miss, and yes, Kentucky into the NCAAT. Kentucky gets in, not basd on what they did, but based on name since they are a bubble team.
Just my guess as to who gets in.

UF, Mizzou and Kentucky are in. Ole Miss is if they win today, might still be even if they lose.
I would say that I hope that we get a shot at kU in the tourney, but we aren't going to play them in the 'second' round, and I don't have a lot of faith in us making it past there, so...

4-8 or 5-7 . The same way teams figured out the wild rebel offense after a year this team will face the same obstacles.

It's going to be so much fun watching reality settle in on the rebs this season. Do you all honestly think you'll stay on top against Mullen for long? I couldn't even type that with a straight face. Do you all honestly believe that you'll have another number one recruit pick you again because of family obligations? lmao.

That he won't ever win you more than nine games in a single season. Put it your sig. In three years, when he's lost to State twice and he's standing next to Houston Nutt in the unemployment line, we'll be laughing.

Kentucky won't get in. NCAA looks at injuries and their impact. Noel getting hurt ended their chances.
