The Mizzou baseball program opens SEC play against No. 5 South Carolina this weekend at Taylor Stadium and there will be plenty of promotions to help kick off the historic weekend. Aside from a nearly perfect forecast, Friday night (March 15) should be memorable for fans in attendance as there will be pre-game fireworks and free t-shirts for the first 500 fans. The gold commemorative t-shirts are part of the ¡®Gold Rush¡¯ game as fans will be encouraged to wear gold to the game, which is the Tigers¡¯ first-ever SEC baseball contest. Below is a list of the complete promotions for the weekend.

Maybe these things will help to get more than 23 people to attend.

Glad to hear the weather is going to be good. With all the weather problems at Missouri so far, I was concerned that we may not get all 3 games in.

Their fan primer should be the picture of that teddy bear thing saying 'Prepare Your Anus'.

lulz....was gonna go with "you gone get raped" but your idea works too....but Vader is going to be disappointed you referred to an ewok as "that teddy bear thing"
but not to hijack the thread, that sounds like a pretty sweet SEC opening night. I know Mizzou baseball isn't all that great this season so far, but how do the teams usually do?? I don't remember hearing much about them lately(ever?) so I'm assuming not so good right? With more money coming in and being located in an area that loves baseball do you think the program will invest more in that area, or just pour everything into the football arms race?

No one here cares about college baseball and that is evident with the 23 fans. All of the money will go to basketball and football.
Probably for the best...as strange as it sounds being competitive in SEC baseball is probably harder than being competitive in SEC football. Hell, just 2 years ago the last 3 teams in Omaha were from the East, and if I remember correctly the only teams they lost to were other East teams.
