Ya man so completely snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory. It's kind of become his hallmark.
My thoughts are best summed up by another poster's post on another forum:
"We’ve seen AK for 7 seasons. It’s the same story every year. The players change, but the results never do. I bet if we gave him 15 more years, he might eventually get us to the tournament once or twice through dumb luck or sheer circumstance. But, it would not be on his own merit (unless he completely changes his coaching style).
I strongly disagree with people throwing out things like, “we’re not a basketball school” or “who are we going to get that’s better?” You’re settling when you make those kind of comments. Nobody wants AK fired because he hasn’t yet won a national title. He needs to go because he can’t even get us to the Dance when he has an experienced, moderately talented roster in a year when the conference absolutely sucks. I don’t expect miracles, but I do think it’s reasonable to demand an occasional NCAAT appearance from our coach.
Also, to be blunt, I find AK to be a complete douche. He’s arrogant and condescending (especially if you’ve seen him out on the Square) and appears more interested in being a “celebrity” than he does at doing what it takes to become a celebrity coach. If he were a little bit more industrious or humble, I might cut him even more slack than I already have (doubtful, but still). He’s always been quick to talk about how bad the arena and fan support are when he’s doing well, but when things hit the fan, he’s quick to blame the players and talk about how they come out “unmotivated.” You can’t have your cake and eat it too, at some point you have to accept responsibility and do your job." - credit to bball1984
