It's been said over and over again, and I think it's true by now. Mullen doesn't give a about stars. He would rather take a two star kid that works for what we want to do than he would take a five star just to have him for the publicity. Therein lies the biggest gulf in our programs and fans expectations when it comes to recruiting.
State fans will get all bent out of shape if/when OM signs another good class and ours is in the 30s or so. But will that erase the last EB? Will it give one an insurmountable edge over the others? I don't think so.
And if we develop players like we should, and pull in more top 15 classes, we will be more talented and start winning more, and that includes egg bowls.
