The Tigers are 23-32 (.418) in the SEC Tournament since its renewal in 1979. Overall, Auburn has a 27-49 (.355) mark in the tournament. Auburn won the 1985 SEC Tournament when the eighth-seeded Tigers won four games in four days, the first team to accomplish that feat (Arkansas also did it in 2000 by defeating the Tigers in the championship game and Georgia in 2008 and Mississippi State in 2009). Auburn has been the SEC Tournament runner-up twice (1984, 2000). The Tigers lost to Ole Miss 68-54 in last year's first round in New Orleans, three years after reaching the semifinals in 2009, defeating Florida 61-58 and losing to Tennessee 94-85 in Tampa.
