At this point, I can't even justify keeping Kennedy around for another season.

If Pearl shows any interest in the job, is he worth the obvious baggage? The fact is, the guy is a WINNER. He repeatedly kicked Calipari's ass when Cal was at Memphis. Then again, does he bail at the first sniff of a better job?

Then you have Michael White. He's a Rebel, no question about that. He knows how hard it is to win here. He understands the pitfalls of the job. Then again, will those pitfalls be corrected once the new arena is completed?

I'm almost leaning towards Bruce Pearl. He is a media magnet. ESPN loves him, and like I said....the guy is an absolute winner. Combine him with the new building, and Ole Miss basketball is suddenly a hot topic of conversation.

Thoughts?

Pearl's a scumbag ,but he's a winner. The real question is does it hurt your school's image if you hire him?

What image does Ole Miss basketball have now? Taking a risk on a winner is better than being non existent.

True didn't hurt Kentucky to hire Calipari so maybe the rebs could get as lucky with this hire as they did.

Just to add something else...sorta of a similar sitiuation ,but different sport. If I didn't have such a man crush still on Mullen it would not of hurt my feelings if MSU hired Petrino...just sayin

What did he do?  I never paid much attention to it but heard it was fairly minor.  Cooking out with recruits at his house or something like that, I mean that's what I heard.

It was lying to the NCAA about the incident that got him in more trouble than anything else.

It seems to me that White would be the "safe" hire.....while Pearl is the "big risk/big reward" hire.

I'm convinced. I want Bruce!

Pearl would get my vote. Nobody takes us seriously in basketball anyway so what do we have to lose?

How is it that Pearl compares to Cal? Pearl broke rules.  People who don't know and just listen to the drive-bys always say Cal broke the rules.  The NCAA never said Cal broke the rules.  The NCAA said Pearl broke the rules.  Who turned Marcus Camby into UMass and the NCAA following the NCAA Final Four, and after Camby had declared for the NBA draft, when Camby told him that he had signed with an agent, and that never had to be reported since he was no longer playing college basketball, the season was over, and it could have been swept under the rug, end of story; but, felt it was the ethical thing to turn in the violation - oh, yeah, John Calapari.  Who approved Derrick Rose 3 times regarding his eligibility to play for an college in America, and knowing he had clearinghouse approval from the NCAA 3 times would not have played Derrick Rose or any other player cleared by the NCAA...No coach that is who.  Cal played him and after three clearances from the NCAA and after Memphis had played DRose, they decide oh, were sorry we changed their mind....was that Cal's fault?  NCAA said it wasn't.  Don't compare the haters myth about Cal versus the NCAA rule breaker Bruce Pearl.

If Ole Miss is going say goodbye to AKennedy, I hope they will go with a guy who is not a rule breaker, Mike White.

Even though he's a big sweaty Jew that beat us all the time, I like Bruce Pearl.

Worth the risk, in my opinion.
