@THE_KRIEG, WTF? Tallahasee? Tall is a craphole. I've been several times and your not missing anything there. If you're gonna live in Fl, you have got to live near a beach.

No brainer.
Orlando is by far the best place to live in Florida.
Anywhere in West Orlando (West Orange County), such as Windermere, Dr. Phillips, Winter Garden, southern Ocoee, etc. are wonderful places to live, raise a family, school your kids, and the like.  Best in Florida.

Places to avoid:
Gainesville
Ocala
Tampa
Jax
Miami
Daytona

The Eastern beaches, all the way from Ormand Beach to Ft. Lauderdale are pretty nice.
The Western beaches in Destin are the world's best, but the towns are shitty.
The Western beaches from Clearwater to Ft. Myers are typical slow motion Gulf stuff; nothing like the Atlantic.

It's according to what your idea of "near" is. Tall is not near by a darn sight to me.
