1. Kansas City Chiefs
-- Luke Joeckle; OT Texas A&M
Especially now with the Alex Smith trade, seems unanimous.
(Other possibilities: None unless the Cheifs decide to sign the left tackle they have. If thats the case then everyother position besides QB seems justifiable)
2.Jacksonville Jaguars
-- Shariff Floyd; DT Florida
May seem a bit odd but let me explain. The Jags play a 4-3 Defense and the only 4-3 End avaliable is Werner from FSU, but I honestly dont think he wow'd anyone at the combine and justified a #2 pick. Terrence Knighton is a free agent and CJ Mosely played decent as a starter. Alualu was never worth the 10 overall pick, Gene Smith should have been fired right then and there and never made the Blaine Gabbert Pick. But anyways, Floyd is definitiely Top-5 worthy, especially with how he did at the Combine and I think the Jags grab him up. The Jaguars need Corners as well and bad, but word around the river city is the team is putting every effort into bringing in Sean Smith from Miami, and with Jonthan Bank's subpar combine performance he may fall right into their lap at #33 overall.
(Other Possibilities: Dee Milliner (CB Alabama), Trade down and draft Ezikiel Ansah (DE/LB BYU) to play Gus Bradley's new hybrid DE-LB Leo position. Bjoern Werner (DE FSU), Jarvis Jones (LB Georgia) Dion Jordan (DE/LB Oregon) Basically ANYONE who can rush the passer. Trade down with the Rams and steal their First 2 picks at 16 and 22.)
3.Oakland Raiders
-- Star Lotulelei; DT Utah
With the heart condition coming into play, Lotulelei's draft stock has probably suffered but I seriously doubt Oakland cares and they make him the latest player to be forgotten in the black hole. They need anything and everything on defense as well as a QB but I dont think they want another Jamarcus Russel.
(Other Possibilities: Shariff Floyd (DT Florida) if the Jags pass on him, Geno Smith (QB West Virginia), Dee Milliner (CB Alabama))
4.Philidelphia Eagles
-- Dion Jordan; DE/LB Oregon
Chip Kelly was the coach at Oregon, Jordan was a player at Oregon. Philly is switching to a 3-4 and needs a pass rushing OLB. Kelly says Jordan is "a special guy in his heart." I don't know If I need to say anything else.
(Other Possibilites: Chance Warmack (OG Alabama))
5. Detroit Lions
-- Dee Milliner; CB Alabama
The Lions are back to their dreadful ways and need a corner like you couldn't believe. Milliner ran a great 40 yard dash and confirmed his top corner status and wont fall past the Lions.
(Other Possibilities: Eric Fisher (OT Central Michigan))
6. Cleveland Browns
-- Barkevious Mingo, DE LSU
They need a pass rusher or a deep threat to pair with Josh Gordon.
(Others: Cordarrelle Patterson (WR Tenn.), Chance Warmack (OG Bama))
7. Arizona Cardinals
-- Eric Fisher, OT Central Michigan
The Cardinals need someone to protect whichever QB they decide to throw into the fire.
(Others: Geno Smith (QB West Virginia), Matt Barkley(QB USC))
8. Buffalo Bills
-- Geno Smith; QB West Virginia
Ryan Fitzpatrick continues to dissapoint, GM Buddy Nix said they will draft a franchise QB, and Geno looked pretty good this past weekend. I don't see anybody else drafting a QB first round other than Arizona but I think they have bigger needs. But no doubt about it, Geno will be the first QB taken.
(Others: Cordarrelle Patterson (WR Tenn))
9. New York Jets
-- Ezikiel Ansah; LB/DE BYU
Pass rush, Receiving threat, Quarterback, Offensive Line, anything. If not for the Jaguars, they would have the most overall team needs. Ansah is a top-10 pick for sure who sure showed why in the Senior Bowl and Combine. The Jets get a great player here.
(Others: Jarvis Jones (LB Georgia) Cordarrelle Patterson (WR Tenn.))
10. Tennessee Titans
-- Chance Warmack; OG Alabama
The Titans need a corner, Dee Milliner wont be in Nashville unless they trade up, and Xavier Rhodes is a possibility if they trade down. But they have too many needs to trade up and give away picks, so they need to beef up and protect Jake Locker and open up running lanes for Chris Johnson.
(Others: Johnathan Cooper (OG North Carolina), Sheldon Richardson (DT Mizzou))
11. San Diego Chargers
-- Lane Johnson; OT Oklahoma
Serious O-line needs to protect Phillip Rivers who isn't that good to begin with.
(Others: Johnathan Cooper (OG N.Carolina), Sheldon Richardson (DT Mizzou))
12. Miami Dolphins
-- Cordarrelle Patterson; WR Tennessee
The Dolphins need a young WR threat to pair with Tannehill who didn't look that terrible in his rookie season. Should really improve with talent around him and the consensus #1 WR in this years draft.
(Others:Xavier Rhodes (CB FSU))
13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
-- Xavier Rhodes CB Florida State
The Bucs traded away their best corner this past year, they passed on Claiborne last year and Ronde Barber is an old man playing in a young mans game. They can't overlook their biggest need of the past few years, again. Jacksonville is the designated Florida team to do that.
(Others: Desmond Trufant (CB Washington), Kenny Vacarro (S Texas))
14. Carolina Panthers
-- Sheldon Richardson; DT Missouri
(Others: Desmond Trufant (CB Washington))
15. New Orleans Saints
-- Kenny Vaccaro; S Texas
(Others: Jarvis Jones (LB UGA), Damontre Moore (DE/LB TAMU), Desmond Trufant (CB Washington)
16. St.Louis Rams
-- Johnathan Cooper; G/C North Carolina
For the love of God, St.Louis, if you can't protect Sam Bradford, then I dont know what I'm going to do with you.
(Others: Keenan Allen (WR Cal))
17. Pittsburgh Steelers
-- Jarvis Jones; LB Georgia
The Steelers get a steal, and I mean a steal. I secretly think the Steelers planted the story so that Jarvis would fall to them.
(others: Kennan Allen (WR Cal))
18. Dallas Cowboys
-- Bjoern Werner; DE FSU
Dallas is switching to a 4-3 scheme so they need the talent to run it. Dallas gets a good steal here in the middle of the round.
(Others: DJ Fluker (OT Alabama))
19. New York Giants
-- Damontre Moore; DE/LB Texas A&M
His poor combine showing really dropped his stock. But he's still a great player. Some players just don't do well in a practice setting but are still winners. With Osi Umenyora leaving in free agency the Giants get yet another Pass Rusher.
(Others: DJ Fluker (OT Alabama)
20. Chicago Bears
-- Tyler Eifert; TE Notre Dame
The Bears need someone else to throw to besides Brandon Marshall, especially at the this position because the TE's they have are just awful.
(Others: WR Tavon Austin (WR West Virginia))
21. Cincinatti Bengals
-- Eddie Lacy; RB Alabama
I'm going to be honest. I phoned this one in. Obviously Gree-Ellis was just signed and he was a 1,000 yard back, but he's not really young, and he might be better as a compliment back. They need cornerback depth too....
(Others: I have no idea. Im tired of researching the Bengals. Desmond Trufant I guess. Kiss my ass)
22. St.Louis Rams
-- Keenan Allen; WR Cal
The rams were so pissed when Jacksonville traded ahead of them to get Justin Blackmon. So pissed Steve Fischer threw his glasses on the table. Keenan isn't Blackmon but he's a great Wideout.
(Others: DJ Fluker (OT Alabama), Menelik Watson (OT FSU))
23. Minnesota Vikings
-- Tavon Austin; WR West Virginia
The Vikings were hoping for Keenan but I dont think they'll get him. So the speedster gets to be a faster Wes Welker in Minnesota.
(Others: DeAndre Hopkins (WR Clemson))
24. Indianapolis Colts
-- DJ Fluker; OT Alabama
The colts biggest needs are Right Tackle and a Corner opposite Davis. But the corner class is deep and I think protecting Andrew Luck takes highest priority.
(Others: Desmond Trufant (CB Washington, Jonthan Banks (CB Miss. State))
25. Seattle Seahawks
-- Datone Jones; DE UCLA
The Seahawks seem to be in love with this guy. They need some passrush on an already dominant line.
(Others: DeAndre Hopkins (WR Clemson))
26. Green Bay Packers
-- Zach Ertz; TE Stanford
The Packers really need a rush linebacker but there are none left worth #26 overall, but Ertz is and with Finley leaving, this works.
(Others: Gavin Escobar (TE San Diego State))
27. Houston Texans
-- DeAndre Hopkins; WR Clemson
The Texans have a few needs here but I think they go with the choice to take pressure off their All-Pro Wide Receiver and give him a suitable #2 to take away the double teams.
(Others:Kevin Minter (LB LSU))
28.Denver Broncos
-- Desmond Trufant; CB Washington
Joe Flacco throwing on the Broncos was the funniest damn thing to me. But not them. They need serious help all over the defense.
(Others: Kevin Minter (LB LSU), Jonathan Cyprien (S Florida International), Johnathan Hankins (DT Ohio State))
29. New England Patriots
-- Johnathan Hankins; DT Ohio State
(Others: Johnthan Banks (CB Miss. State), David Amerson (CB NC State), Matt Elam (S Florida), Eric Reid (S LSU))
30. Atlanta Falcons
-- Alex Okafor ; DE Texas
Atlanta needs a Pass rush on the outside and Okafor seems the best bet from number 30.
(Others:Kevin Minter (LB LSU), Sam Montgomery (DE LSU))
31. San Fransisco 49ers
-- Jesse Williams; DL Alabama
Jesse Williams is a natural fit for the team's 3-4 scheme. He'll also be filling a big hole at defensive end if the guy they have leaves in free agency.
(Others: John Jenkins (DT UGA) Jonathan Cyprien (S FIU))
32. Baltimore Ravens
-- Matt Elam; S Florida
Ray Lewis retired. Ed Reed is more than likely gone. What happens to Boldin? So Many needs to fill, not enough first round picks. Honestly I flipped a coin between Elam and Minter as both could fit right in, but it landed tails and Elam gets the pick.
(Others: Kevin Minter(LB LSU))
I'll be honest with everyone, I really only know one team, and thats jacksonville, so if you have any comments about your team or what they'll do and an argument behind it, I'll change it up.
