hes gonna be on the next cover of si, hes a frontrunner for next years heisman, he should be the overall pick in next years draft, and after the hit on vince smith, everyone knows who he is...

I see you prefer anecdotes rather than stats.

Let's check with our resident statistician for the real story: Google.

It seems you don't know wtf you're talking about. I get you're trying to win Homer of the Year, but keep that nonsense to those threads. If you're gonna type dumb stuff, don't do it here please.

as if 912,000 is pedestrian numbers!  manziel does have more results, but that doesnt mean that people dont know who he is, especially the ones who are voting...and surely youre not blind enough that you dont see that!

I said it's a popular vote, i.e. a popularity contest. There is much more out there on Manziel than there is on Clowney. And the story gets worse when you consider the publicity Clowney had surrounding him during his recruitment, his announcement, plus he's been playing and starting for 2 full seasons. This past season, Manziel wasn't even guaranteed the starting QB spot.

I'm not arguing whether Clowney is better than Manziel. I'm not arguing whether he deserves to be on the cover more than Manziel. I'm not arguing whether or not Clowney will beat out Manziel in Heisman votes. I'm simply stating that Manziel is definitely more popular than Clowney nationwide. And that's not a knock on Clowney, but he doesn't play a flashy position. You have a QB who's been the media darling for half the season, versus a DE who makes a viral hit once in a season.

The only thing Clowney has going for him is that the voting wasn't this year. Next year could be a completely different story. Biggest impact? Manziel doesn't go pro. Other things that could go his way: Manziel has a shitty year, or Clowney has a surprisingly impactful year full of hits like during the bowl game, or both.

Like I said, quit posting dumb things in this thread please.

Too bad it isn't about who is best. It's a popular vote. Clowney may be popular in SC, hell maybe even popular in the SEC. But as far as a national vote, more people have heard about Manziel and the story of how the freshman phenom known as Johnny Football single-handedly outplayed and outperformed the behemoth Alabama Crimson Tide (ESPN's words (paraphrased by WadeWilson), not mine (except for my paraphrasing)). Besides, who is more likely to be voted for and put on the cover, a star QB or a DE?

Clowney might be good, but he isn't as popular as you think he should be.
be sure to send lil Johnny his money for saying that

My post didn't make me any profit, so I'm good.

But @Benny, my posts do help bring him ad revenue. He owes Johnny Football for my post.

Kentucky won the first round of that by a landslide.  Only Penn State was right behind us.  What happened?
