After undergoing medicals at the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine, it appears that the biggest concern surrounding Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Jarvis Jones has been confirmed. Jones’ medical history, which includes spinal stenosis that forced him to leave the USC Trojans, has caused some NFL teams to remove Jones from their draft board altogether.
According to Pro Football Talk:
Per a league source, Jones’ neck has prompted multiple teams to shy away from considering him, especially in round one. He left USC due to concerns over his spinal stenosis. The fact that Georgia welcomed him with open arms shows that reasonable medical minds will differ on whether to take the risk associated with a narrowed spinal canal.
Of course, this could just be posturing from other teams that are hoping Jones will slide down the draft so that they can select him in April.
You always have to take information with a grain of salt this time of year, so be cautious of any criticism or negative comments you hear.
