Lol, somebody is obsessed. Nobody's even talking about us and yet he writes three paragraphs about Georgia and says UGA nine times.

Gamechickens gonna gamechicken.

The title of this thread is SEC's best defense in '13.....UGA would qualify as thread topic relevant....

On paper, it looks like UGA would be the one to bet on........

so I'm betting on the Tide

can the Tide have the #1 defense after losing Lester at safety, Milliner at CB, Nico at LB, Jesse at DT, Square at DE, Dial at DT?

I think we have a chance to be a little better than last year actually with Pagan and Hubbard growing up a little bit, I think Fanning splits time with Dickson, and will be a monster

It's a little homerish on your part.

Not that Bama might have the best defense next year, because that is very likely, but in that it's silly to think you can replace NFL bound departees and not only have no drop off initially, but be better.

Yes and you spent 80% of your post talking about ONE team (that you're obsessed with) who nobody says WILL be the best defense in '13.

So really you're just hanging off our nuts again. As usual.

and I get how you can think that...

but we were #1 defense in country in '11, lost 9 out of 11 on defense to the NFL.........we were #1 in defense in the country in '12

Bama has to improve their pass rush, but their talent says that should happen.  Hubbard should improve, as well as Stinson, Devall and Dickson.   I really have confidence that pass rush could become a strength.

It's likely that the 3man corner rotation will be Belue returning of course, Fulton on the outside, and the one of these guys with future NFL potential is Sophomore Geno Smith @ Nickel. They have the best coaching possible, but there is no Dre Kirkpatrick of 2011 or Milliner that you know will lock someone down going into the season.   Nick Saban and Coach Smart will obviously have intense focus on coaching these guys up, and developing maybe Sylve as a backup.

Other than that relatively solid outlook, but nothing special as of yet outlook at CB...I'd say the Bama D was saved when CJ Mosley (a guy that could've worked his way into the first round with workouts...if he wasn't already there) decided to return.

The DL situation is always strong, but the LB situation looks to be the best in CFB IMO.  The Safety position runs 3 deep as well.  Clinton Dix will be a star.

But honestly 2012 was supposed to be the rebuilding year for Bama...gotta love what I see returning for us.

Bama had a top D without a dominant pass rush.  There are a number of people who may be able to step into such a role--if so, then Bama's D will be hard to beat.

Still weary of having Sunseri starting safety. I think HaHa and Landon Collins will eventually be our 2 starting safeties. Also gonna be hard to replace Jesse Williams up the middle. Also not settled at Belue being our best cover CB.

We won't be the best, but we'll damn sure be the most improved.  Write that shit down and pay granny for the rubdown.

I see Landon Collins and LaMichael Fanning becoming superstars this year, Fanning is gonna show Pagan up and Collins is gonna be a monster..........

with our DL and our LB's, our weakness once again is secondary, and while we finished in the top 5 in the country in pass defense, I'll take a weak secondary again lol..........but it does have some holes, plenty of opportunity for Cook and Smith to get some PT

I'm hoping they start HaHa and Landon at safety with Sunseri backing one up and Perry backing the other up

Bold prediction of the week

Kool aid is a helluva drug
“We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms -- to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.”

There were several posts already in this thread that either stated UGA would be a contender or were in the mix for top 3 or so. I stated that I didn't think so and gave my reasons why. I don't know why you or anyone else would become so hurt and emotional over it....I only posted official stats to support my opinion....
