STARKVILLE, Miss. - Junior outfielder Demarcus Henderson delivered a clutch RBI single in the sixth inning and sophomore relief ace Jonathan Holder tossed 1.2 innings of shutout relief as No. 5 Mississippi State (2-0) nipped the Portland Pilots 2-1 on a wind-chilled Saturday afternoon at Dudy Noble Field.
