Why do y'all hate on the Cardinals?

The main reason is the BS wild card shit, but real Braves fans haven't forgotten about Jim Edmonds, Will Clark, etc. in the playoffs either.
I kept failing a math test at the University of Alabama because every time I added 5+3 I got 8 and they kept insisting that the right answer was 14.

Hate the umps and the MLB for the wild card thing. The MLB for having the second wild card (which I think is stupid) and the umps for blowing the obvious call.

Agreed 100%! I hated the wild card thing long before the season began but I really hated it after. The infield fly thing wouldn't have been as big a deal if there had been a 3 game series instead of a 1 game elimination.
Perhaps you can garner status above the other Cardinal fans who post "infield fly lol" in our Braves threads...

I do agree that the 1 game elimination is dumb but having 3 games would be ridiculous. It wouldn't make sense to have 3 straight wild card games while everyone sits out. Also, what would be the format? A 1-1-1? I hate it because it gives the Wild Card such a disadvantage. It also allows for teams to get into the playoffs that don't deserve it.

The Cards have been the one constant contender other than us for the last 15 years.  Plus most non Braves fans in the southeast are Cards fans, especially the older age group 45+.  They grew up Cards before the Braves moved to ATL

Or just win the division and not worry about it.  As a fan of the game I love the new wild card game.  I think as unfortunate as it was to have that BS call against the Braves it put the rest of the league on notice that if you don't want something like that to happen to you, put yourself in better position so that game isn't even an issue bc you're not in it.

Oh I'd have definitely preferred to win the division, but in the two East divisions that's easier said than done.

Just win the division? Isn't that something you are afraid of not happening in the AL East? Hell, there isn't a lightweight there any longer.

Easier said than done in both East divisions.

Easier said than done on each of the East divisions.

I think if the Braves can get more consistent offensively they're the best team in the NL without a doubt.  Uggla seemingly trying to get below the Mendoza line definitely didnt help but Freeman and jHey need to hit better (and I'm sure he will since theyre young)  The Mets will suck still. The Marlins will duke it put with the Astros for the worst record in the bigs.  The Phillies could be decent if Howard is actually back to form. The Nats I think will be tough but will regress IMO.  I thought last year was kind of flukey for them offensively.  No way Ian Desmond (SS) will replicate his .500+ slugging % which was 150 points higher than his last two seasons.

1. Braves
2. Nats
3. Phillies
4. Mets
5. Marlins

As far as the AL East goes the Bombers should still win the division.  Despite their age they're still a top 3 offense.  They finished #2 in Runs, #1 in HR, #1 in slugging and #1 in On Base %.  They lost Swisher and Russel Martin but they'll be all right.  A.Rod was pretty much worthless so him being out is actually an upgrade lol. Baltimore was a fluke. They're not winning all those 1 run games again this year.  Toronto is fantastic on paper but can they keep their guys off the DL? That's the biggest xfactor for them.  Boston will be interesting bc of the lack of perceived talent offensively for them.  Ortiz was great again but Ellsbury was garbage when he was actually on the field.  Their pitching is questionable as well.  Tampa Bay will be the biggest threat to the East crown bc they're Tampa.  I hate them.  They, along with the Tigers, have been the biggest thorn in the Yankees ass.  They don't have a ton of star power but I'd be a fool to count them out. They're scrappy as hell.

1. Yankees
2. Rays
3. Jays
4. Sox
5. Orioles

I think that the extra wild card is bad for baseball. It waters down the playoffs and it makes it less interesting.

Not at all.  That's the opinion a lot of folks had with the addition of the original wild cards.  Baseball has never been more exciting though.  Your Cards wouldn't have even made the playoffs without that 1 game wild card.  It makes the regular season exponentially more interesting.

I am happy that the Cardinals got in but I don't think that we were deserving to get in.

What about teams that play in terrible divisions?

I mean all things equal, your argument is valid. Problem is, all things are NEVER equal. It was like the year that the Pats missed the playoffs while winning 11 games and the AFC West winner got in at 8-8.

If you want more teams in the playoffs, lose the WC and go to 4 divisions. But that will never happen.

Quite frankly the 1-game play in has ruined baseball, but it won't keep me from enjoying the game I love.

Out of curiosity how has it ruined it for you?

To me it's no different than the season ending with a natural 1 game playoff.
