"We didn't play out of hatred for anyone. It was more of playing out of love for one another and this university." - Coach Freeze

University of Mississippi officials have confirmed reports that the school’s reserve of damns has been completely exhausted.
“We are out of damns to give. We do not give one single damn,” Chancellor Dan Jones told reporters

Has anyone of my State bros seen Woodruff? How does he look. Will we use him much at all this year?

He better be in the rotation if you want a sot at omaha. He's a top 40 sophomore prospect according to kendall rogers

They say he is recovering ok, and he will come in, but he will see limited duty. We are a 100% better team when is in the rotation, though. He was throwing 92-93 before he got hurt.

He was at 93 in the scrimmage yesterday.

He is not "hurt" -- just had a tender elbow for a few weeks.  Seems to be mostly past at this point, but just seeing light duty right now as a precaution.

This staff has done a TREMENDOUS job of protecting our arms even with what some would call "overuse" -- after the McNickle clusterF, I've been impressed.

Girodo is the one that's going to blow minds this year...

FWIW, I talked to a good friend of mine that is VERY close to the OM baseball program and has been basically since 2002(and is a no bullshit guy), so you can take this info to the bank.

He says this is the best OM team since 05(trust me he'd know) -- and that it's "national seed" good. Says anything less than regional hosts will be a huge disappointment.  Same dude told me y'all were going to be down the past two years and gave me preseason reason EXACTLY why(and was on the money).

Said your underrated due to "dipshit reporters" and that your day 3 starter is 6'6, throws 90-95 with a lights-out changeup and, while flying under the radar, is an absolute STUD. Says he's better than Mayers right now. Also said that your catcher is an EARLY round talent. Said he's LITERALLY got Zunino's skillset, just flying under the radar at this point because "it's his first year against real talent" so I take it he's a JUCO transfer?  Said he's throwing in the 90s out of the catchers' box...

Anyway... Just an FYI to everyone interested...

Everything you just said is right on the money.  Ellis is really good on the mound and potentially great.  He has some really nice pitches and throws a lot of strikes.  The catcher is a JUCO...Stuart Turner.  Kid has legit power and can literally destroy the ball.  I've heard he's great defensively as well.  Possibly the most talented catcher in school history.

I have had high hopes for this season since after 2011.  This is the year.  But I am done making confident predictions because Bianco has not yet proven he can handle subsitutions and bullpen.  I could go in more depth, but I'll spare you the rant.  But your guy is being 100% truthful in his assessment

That may be... But I'm telling you -- if this guy says they are good, they are good.  He tells it like it is, and he's involved with that program day to day.

Bianco may be snakebit, but he says there is absolutely NO WAY any coach outworks him behind the scenes... and, like I say, this guy would definitely know...

Oh, I got no doubt they will be good. I am just giving GR a little grief. But I have no doubt we will hold our own as well.

Bad thing is...this guy was a STUD on the field for them that shoved it up our ass for his 3 years there... and he was a lifelong MSU fan prior to attending OM.  Had bigtime offers from everybody, with OM and South Carolina on him the hardest.

Polk told him to come visit in October and they'd talk about an offer(the early signing period is MONTHS before this, basically meaning the dude would have had to pass on the OM/SC offers for a MSU offer he wasn't guaranteed to ever get).  He loved Dan McDonnell and went to OM...

And THAT instance and the many just like it is how OM built the palace right up the road -- largely on the backs of MS kids that wanted to go to MSU(prior to Bianco OM baseball was a JOKE in state), but the zero recruiting nature of Polk 2 opened pandora's box...and we'll never be able to truly close it again.

Yeah, Polk 2.0 bit us in a lot of ways.....There's always 2007. lol. Still, I think we'll be ok.
