Did this really have to have its own thread when the other thread is already up to 15 pages?

This thread is full of generalizations and weak trolling.

The immediate reaction of literally every single Alabama fan on this site was that these guys were idiots and should be kicked off the team. Enough of this "Well, according to Tahd fans, blah blah blah" stuff... You know good and damn well that's not what any of us said at the immediate moment we heard this news. You're just stoking the flames now.

Either way, I don't expect them to return to the team, so it's not like they're "our problem" anymore. That's all I'll say about it. I really am not going to grasp at straws whether it was 1st degree or 2nd degree...they ruined a tremendous opportunity to further themselves in life and they'll have to pay their dues. Plain and simple.

I'm not gonna be a hypocrite here @UAdan.

When Eric Smith was arrested and when the armed robbery happened it turned into an indictment of Auburn. These are just unpredictable thugs that acted like thugs. It has nothing to do with football,

Fair point, and there are thugs everywhere.

Hard to believe it won't become that eventually.

This is just my opinion, but a crime involving ANY kind of violence whatsoever deserves the harshest punishment.

That's the solution to gun control

I got so sick of the "Auburn recruits felons and thugs" theme from these outlier idiots.

even if their are character flags you can't predict that someone is just gonna decide to beat a kid near to death for a laptop and a credit card.

I really hope they don't turn this into "This is what happens when college kids don't have money".

Calloway, Pettway, Williams and Hayes are just idiots.

Agreed. Even the most heavily supervised players can find ways to get in trouble if they want. People need to hold the invididuals responsible first and not assume it's an institutional thing. There is just no other way to say it. These four players made TERRIBLE decisions and nobody should apologize on their behalf.

Good riddance I say, the faster they have their final charges the better. They won't be playing in Tuscaloosa, that's for sure.

Yes, robbery 2 is a class B felony punishable by 2 to 10 years.

I'm not gonna point fingers at any school or coach over these things. Every school in the SEC would have signed these kids and it could have happened on their campus. Unless there is a coach involved that these things happen frequently on their watch then its just criminals being criminals. Being an AU fans through the last couple of years brings a sense of humility that makes you look at things the other way. We've had our rough stretch.
