Do you really and truly think that if they weren't charged properly that the police department wouldn't be under federal investigation ? I mean for petes sake. Think about it.

Clemson police officers have been known to be fired shortly after pulling over clemson coaches/players. Police departments are plenty dirty, it's not a stretch by any means

Good lord..... I'm trying to keep up here, let's see.... Bama controls the SEC offices, the refs, the media, the police, and the district attorney. Am I missing anybody? It's a wonder Bama ever loses a game, has any bad press, or anyone in trouble.

Per the internet,
From what some lawyers said on the radio yesterday, the physical assault bumped it up to 2nd degree. Based on this, the severity of the injuries determines whether or not the prosecutor is going to go for 1st degree.
1st degree robbery in AL can get you 10 years to life.
2nd degree is 2-20.

Well that seems pretty clear to me... they knocked both victims out and sent one to the hospital with a concussion and injured ribs. (they kicked this victim in the back when he was already knocked out)
Pretty clearly first degree robbery...

I mean, if I went to Tuscaloosa right now and beat the shit out of a student with some friends (let alone 2) and robbed him we'd be charged with probably much worse than second degree robbery.
and they would make you wear makeup for your mug shot!!!!

Repetitive homer defending his team and diminishing their actions is repetitive... according to the Alabama law that you posted, it should have been first degree. They did cause serious injury to the two students they beat the piss out of.
