I remember Charles Rhodes was pretty good in the NIT one year.

You mean the NCAA, actually. Dude was a good scoring threat down low.

I really don't know.  I just know that they did.  Poor guy played hard D and could shoot and dribble.

The reason I didnt like Bost was that he was a bad passer and shot 13 three's a game.  He was solid but never the type of PG that made the team better.  Typical stans development.

I never understood the Stewart hate either. He was a good all-around player. And Bost is probably my least favorite of the players that MSU people have loved recently. I also never understood the Gordon hate, but that's my own personal soapbox.

I loved Bost his Fr and Soph seasons. Kid had grit and as a coach, I was able to chalk up his stupidness and selfishness to being a kid and a competitor.

My problem with him started when he became a "team leader" after his whole going to the draft, oh wait im not going to get drafted pull out after the deadline fiasco. When he was supposed to be a leader, he just jacked up threes all the time and took shots away from guys with good shooting percentages like Jalen and Augustus. If Stans had a nickel for every time he yelled at Bost to attack the basket on iso plays.... well actually I bet he does have a nickel for every time he said that.....

Our fans choose to love/hate in a very weird way when it comes to our bball team in recent years.

They loved: Bost, Sidney, Johnson, Riley Benock, Rhodes, Phil Turner

They hated: Stewart, Gordon, Jalen Steele, Augustus (this one I understand a little because he was a diva, but still people booed him when he spotted up for open three's and wouldn't cheer when he always made them and never appreciated his tough defense and rebounding)

Solid basketball post, Meo. I like you more now that Stansbury is gone, by the way.

He ALWAYS seemed to get one of the loudest ovations when he came in. And I remember the place would always go wild when stans would take him out after he hit a rare jumper.

Gawd, he was a starter for us for a season..... ugh. MSU basketball drives me crazy thinking about.

Most posters have found it less difficult to see merit in my posts now they they are not burdened with the blindness that comes with Stansbury hate.
