Fact: Disney wants a teenage Han Solo movie.

now you sit there and tell me how they make this a mature movie. This will be indiana jones Jr.

The Bobba movie could be good. The TEENAGE Han Solo one? There's little hope for that one.

What is wrong with a teenage protagonist? As long as it tells the origin story for Han Solo, what's the problem?

Once again, you see the name "Disney" and assume they are going to make it a cute film for children. This is a Star Wars film. They know their demographics, and will cater to them. The age of the protagonist has nothing to do with the tone of the film. That's just ignorant.

You don't get it. My point is this movie should never happen. The character of Han has played his role and there's only one actor that should play it. Adding a teenage version of him through a different actor (who will likely just try to imitate Ford) is unnecessary and stupid.

I will give Disney 1 trailer to win me over with this movie. Why? because as they say, what has been seen cannot be unseen. It could ruin one of my favorite characters the same way the prequels ruined vader for me.

I dont know a lot of Prequels do just fine. Godfather Part 2, X Men first class was alright, and the first set of star wars prequels were...well they all sucked except for the last one but that one was a lot darker than the first 2 and it did pretty well. The whole chick dieing of a broken heart kind of pissed me off, couldnt they kill her off in a better way? But whatever.

They need to do a scene in the Boba Fett movie where yours truly crawls out of the Sarlacc pit.

My fear with this is that Han Solo's entire life has already been chronicled by A.C. Crispin in a Han Solo trilogy... If they make a standalone movie that doesn't follow that then they're changing who Han Solo is. If they at least loosely follow part of that then Han has interesting enough teenage years for a movie, but yeah I'm apprehensive over these announced standalone movies...

A Boba Fett movie would have to be bad ass almost no matter what. My only fear there is that they'd try to make Boba Fett "human" and give him emotions, fears, etc. like Karen Traviss did in several novels. Boba Fett doesn't care about people's feelings, he Original Image: http://www.sectalk.c.../lanekiffin.gifs them up and gets his money.
I kept failing a math test at the University of Alabama because every time I added 5+3 I got 8 and they kept insisting that the right answer was 14.

I just noticed a lot of us are in our mid-20's, lots of 25's. 06' bitch?

So um, I'm torn on the whole Disney/Star Wars thing. Disney isn't what they've always been known for in the past, a kiddy franchise geared towards G-rated material. Have to keep in mind they're not all about cartoons, some of my favorite movies are owned by Disney. For example: Remember the Titans(GTFO if you don't like this movie), Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, National Treasure(seriously, not that bad), The Greatest Game Ever Played. Then there's the Chronicles of Narnia(Not my favorite but good examples), Glory Road, Tron Legacy, and John Carter(haven't seen it, had decent reviews).

I can understand if you hate that Lucas sold out, but quite honestly this isn't a death note for the Star Wars series. I'm still in a wait and see mode at the very least.

It's not like any of us have a vote if they're going to make origin movies or not...

I'm glad Star Wars is back. I was only around to see the last 3 open in theaters, and well not that great. Everyone knew once Disney bought Star Wars they were going to make more movies. How much other stuff could they do in the realm? Han Solo and Boba are two characters that we don't know all that much about. Maybe a Vader movie set after 3 and before 4 but that's about it off the top of my head.

Disney has made some really good movies lately, they're not just a cartoon kiddy type of company anymore. There will never be a rated R Star Wars movie, to do that would cost them so much money. A dark Boba movie would be awesome but it's not happening, and a movie doesn't have to be R to be good either. I'm not worried about the Han Solo movie, hopefully the bring in a young unknown guy and makes the movie enjoyable. I know I'm going to see all the Star Wars movies they release anyway.

There is a lot of material available. They have the whole Star Wars Expanded Universe (SWEU) to work from. Vader between Revenge and New Hope, Darth Plagueis/Darth Sidious, Galen Marak, and Darth Revan would all make excellent topics for films.

Exar Kun and all that mess before the old republic time period as well.

I know it sounds obvious, but this is potentially good and potentially a disaster. Considering JJ Abrams is listed for the next trilogy, I'm afraid he'll have his hands on these movies as well. I'd hate to see a Han Solo movie that took the same tone as the new Star Trek film, where the story was so cavalier from the original Star Trek story that they had to justify it by making it an "alternate reality".

he has a trilogy in books already to go one. Not the best but far from blows.

Fett would be a harder one to do. Yoda in his youth in the old republic would have been better than han.

This will blow so hard I'm amazed you people are this calm about it.

Han Solo movie? It will be a younger, teenage solo movie geared towards teens and pre-teens. I can already see Disney casting Shia LaBeouf as a "cool, badass Han that appeals to the rebel teen spirit."

Han was a cold-hearted bastard in the originals and any movie about him would have to be gritty and rough and dark. They will make it into garbage.

Hope is not a policy
