I already dug into this with my contacts and while it sounds dirty and an NCAA violation it is not, unfortunately.
Clemson has an agreement with the state of South Carolina where they lease the plan from the Governor. So Clemson is paying to use it and the Governor isn't going with them or having contact with high school players.
It is legal and above board.
Leave it to FITS "news" to leave out that important piece of info ---
Still begs a lot of questions....does Clemson pay the going rate anyone else who leases this plane pays or do they get a CU alum governor discount? Seeing as it's a plane owned and operated by the state of SC, any of the income based on its lease to non-state workers and organizations should be a matter of public record & easy to get.
I understand I'm looking at this whole thing through garnet-colored glasses but this is an already-opened Pandora's box & Clemson isn't exactly the most "above board" institution in the world. Hell, they even have Danny Ford riding along on these trips - the ringleader and one of the main Purchasing people of the 1981 Clemson "championship" that they bought and paid for.....and I thought he's been resigned from Clemson since the 90's and he & the school were all pissed off at each other - I guess they made up since? Nevermind, I just remembered that I could give a

about danny ford & clemson....carry on
Let me get this straight. We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and will be fined for if we don't, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts itself from it, signed by a president who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese and financed by a country that's broke.
What could possibly go wrong?
