First off neither console is cheaper then the other.... I retail both at 299.99 on the high end and go down from there. So thats a crock of bull.

Secondly, The PS3 was never fail proof. Or did you miss the mass fail of the 60GB PS3 system that came out. Along with the older 20GB systems as well were susceptible  If you want to know the big difference between the RROD and the YLOD (red ring of dead and yellow light of death) only one company fixes the system for free even if it outside of the warranty. That would be Microsoft.

And if we are comparing companies only one company has lost hundred of thousands of credit card numbers and personal information to hackers and had to completely shut down there online service lol.

That would be Sony. Yeah Sony is better at everything lolz

*edit-- And if Microsoft was so inferior they wouldn't have eaten into Sony's sells by over 50% Each time a Xbox is released Sony loses another chunk of the market share.

I will never buy another shitty Microsoft piece of hardware. I bought the original Xbox and had to send it in three times for repair. Skipped out on the 360 since I figured it'd have the same technical problems, and sure enough there were a thousand new 'RROD' videos showing up per day.

I ultimately ended up just throwing my Xbox in the garbage after it shit on me for the last time. Meanwhile, my PS1 and PS2 both still work perfectly to this date.

You know good and well that the fail rate of Xbox's versus PS3's is so much greater that trying to compare the two is silly. What's a crock of bull is Microsoft repairing the consoles outside the warranty. I guess I'm just the only person they told "no." And you act like I'm supposed to be impressed with them that they fixed their own junk that wasn't made well to begin with. I'm not.

I've owned both. Two Xbox360's actually. Both fell victim to the RROD. I've had my PS3 for several years now and never had a hiccup out of it. Why? Because Sony makes quality products and Microsoft makes garbage. You can't really argue that. Hell, you PROFIT off of Microsoft's poor quality, you said so yourself you thrived off of repairs.

Yup I do make money off repairs but I have not had one come through my doors that i'm aware of in a long time. Specially since the new models have come out. But, I am surprised they told you they wouldn't fix your console outside of warrenty if the problem was the Red lights.

Oh I am not defending the product so much as playing devils advocate. I own all three systems and several of each PS3 and Xbox 360. I will say the Xbox is used much more though. I stopped doing anything online with Sony since I don't trust they have resolved all their security issues with their online service.

Xbox markets better, thats about it....seriously compare the specs on top of the line ps3 to top of the line xbox, ps3 is and has been a far more capable versatile, well built machine. Xbox just has decently better controllers and SOME games that are better. ie halo. I still say that infamous is the best console game I have played to date though.

FWIW I've owned the same Xbox 360 for five years with no issues except a CD drive to sticks sometimes.

I have both systems and have learned to like the PS3.  I got a 360 right when they put out the updated model and it is a battle hardened veteran with probably 2000+ hours or so on it.  Is there a way to check?  My wife and I both had Skyrim characters with over 200 hours on 1 character.  We've both had several for that 1 game.  I got it in 2007 or 2008 and it has never had a single issue.
