Its vacation time again, what is there to do in huntsville? My son wants to go to space camp and i think it would be pretty cool but not for a week.

Okay I'm from Huntsville so let me help you out a bit.

-Bridgestreet. They have a really nice movie theater, a lot of stores, and sometimes they have some activities for kids on the weekends...sometimes.  The mexican restaurant is pretty good and there's a nice sushi and pizza place there as well.

-Space and Rocker Center. Maybe not the camp (I actually did the aviation challenge a long time ago and it was fun) but they usually have some cool tours and they play movies in IMAX.

-I can't remember the name of it but there is a pretty big water park around the Huntsville.  It might be Point Mallard but don't quote me on that.

Outside of that there isn't a whole lot to do.  Parkway Mall isn't too bad, we have a Baumhower's Wings near the mall that I like to go to for games.  Huntsville isn't a really touristy place anyway so anything you do won't really be that crowded.  Also check out Rosie's if you like mexican food and Thomas Pit if you like BBQ, those places are some of the bigger favorites.

I currently live in Huntsville an I'd have to agree with everything @Playmaker said. It's really not a touristy place, but Bridgestreet and the Space & Rocket Center are the main attractions. Downtown Huntsville has some artsy stuff and the bars but I've lived here most of my life and I still get lost. It's pretty cold here right now but could be in the 60s tomorrow if it feels like it.

If you golf, there's a pretty cheap open course called Sunset Landing near the airport in Madison. Or if you dot mind spending the money there is a really nice Robert Trent Jones course close bye. If you golf, there are actually several really nice courses around in all price ranges.
