I dont hate the idea. its basically going to the NFL model of conferences. its at 4 teams now but itll go to 6 teams as a playoff pretty soon, once everyone realizes how much money is to be made.

PT is right. Go back to the 2010 settings

Honestly I think over time Mizzou and aTm are going to be pretty powerful SEC additions, no homer, we're the only FBS school in our state and aTm is the only texas SEC school... Mizzou's main problem was injuries last season, I think we're considerably better this year if we stay healthy.

Mizzou makes more sense in a conference with Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa State. It just does

Rumor has it that Tennessee will be joining conference usa. Immediately becoming the 4th best team in the conference

I hate this. This is such a stupid idea. We all suck outside the SEC so lets all band together so we can pump each other in harmony.

so without central scheduling we are going to selectivly reduce the number of teams we can play and increase the teams we split TV money with. And this makes sense to someone in respect to a benefit to the SEC?

I'm getting tired of all of it. What are these brilliant minds going to think up next to destroy something good? They keep trying.

and if BCS does the scheduling and divys out the money why not set the rules too? They already name the winner. Why not set aside the NCAA and go with the group with skin in the game right?

At the moment, this is just a Big12 Rep blowing smoke about a meeting the Big12 will have. I'd wager little if anything comes from this.

Just go back to how conferences were before this started. West Virginia in the same conference as Kansas and Texas is flat out stupid.
Louisville, Boston College, and Miami are now in the same conference (again, I guess you can say.)
Geographical regions, institute a playoff like EVERY OTHER DAMN SPORT IN EXISTENCE, and be done with it.
That's what should have happened. Now it's too late....the ball is rolling and the new playoff has folks scrambling to get a piece of that pie.
No offense to you purists but the bowl system has always sucked.

I loved the Bowl system when Coach Bryant got UK a Sugar Bowl bid by guaranteeing UK would beat high and mighty Oklahoma. And then did it.

the big 12 is solid except for the fact that in time they will be hurting for more teams. the acc is a caught turkey the day before thanksgiving. the big east is a plucked chicken.
