spending money in and of itself isnt a deal breaker. Its return on investment that kills us. When we fund defense and NASA we are funding research and evelopment that have private sector non military aplications. When we spend money on social welfare projects we just see a return on investment. Infact it multiples one way to the negetive. Unfortunatly too many voters and voter blocks simply see government money as play money and their due and must be given a slice of the pie to get a vote. Defense and NASA create in and out side jobs andd multiple the return on investment.
