So lets say that you have funding to provide ground support for 2-3 embassies. You get reports that 20+ are understaffed and need additional personnel. Probably they all put in for more funding/ personnel. You have to make a judgment call whether to pull all of them out, which ones to send aid to, or tell them just to hang in there. If you pull them out how big of an event is that? It was a judgement call error, but it appears that they could not predict that actual terrorists would target that area with all of the other civil unrest in the area masking or maybe even inspiring the terrorists. This is not the line of questioning that the republicans persued.
The republicans tried to twist these events to support their agenda and somehow show that the current administration is at fault and therefore unqualified to lead this nation. Their my dad can beat up your dad schoolyard attitude makes me just want to punch them in the face. I'm looking at you Kentucky Senator Dickhead.
If they were honest about that from the get go, I don't think there would be any issue. It's a nasty world and shit happens. What has people pissed off is the admin spent at least 2 weeks trying to convince the public that it was a protest that got out of hand and not a deliberate attack on the embassy, when they knew the day of the attack that was not the case. This admin has a persistent pattern of

ing up and covering up...
