i know we got the pitching, but can we keep doing it with the batting average being so low? i suspect our ba will be much improved with a few more additions this year. should be a good one.

Based on the number of games we lost by a single run last year, BA doesn't have to improve much to get a lot more Ws...

Conference is better this year, especially the West. Tamu won't be a push over and bama is better than most expect. Friday is no longer a sure win for you. Hell there are 3 better Friday starters in the west. You need OPS and BA to improve drastically. CT should help. But until you have 2 through 5 hitters that actually produce you will continue to put a ton of pressure on your arms. You got lucky that holder was outstanding last year. Can't expect him to go 30 scoreless innings again.

-Norris is healthy > upgrade
-CT back and healthy > upgrade
-Outfield has WHEELS... CT + Renfroe + true fr. Jacob Robson > upgrade over Brent Brownlee
-Pirtle transfers in and should start @ 2nd. Plus the fact that Norris can hold down 3rd should be enought to keep Frost and Britton off the field too much. Addition by subtraction especially in the lineup.
Experience is key here. If we can get any kind of rhythm going and avoid injuries that throw off the balance, our offensive numbers should improve. SHOULD. I'm not worried about Graveman really. I've always thought he's been one of our more unsung heroes. Really hoping Lindgren and Woodruff break out this year. We need them to.
Mitchell + Mitchell + Pollo + Holder + newcomers and transfers in the pen should be extra solid.
The wool is sprouting.

Should be noted that Evan Mitchell's stock is soaring... He's projected as a top 6-7 rounder now -- and his stuff is as good as Stratton. We've just got to see if he's had the same mental maturity.
Believe it or not, Hunter Renfroe projects in the first round right now...

Been to 3 of the 4 scrimmages... Pitching looks great. Hitting is MUCH better. Guys are actually getting the ball in gaps and showing some power.
Base running will put us over the top..... Sprout the wool!
