Stan Musial passed away this afternoon at the age of 92.  Apparently of natural causes in his home.

As a huge Cardinals fan this is truly a sad day. RIP Mr. Musial.

Definitely one of the more underrated greats in the history of the game.   I was in St. Louis this summer and it was great to see so many #6 jerseys at Busch.

RIP Stan.
"Whenever I see those crimson jerseys and crimson helmets, I feel humbled to have played football for Alabama. Other players in the NFL talk to me about their schools and their traditions. I just smile knowing the immense love Alabama fans have for our school and its football program. I'm proud to be a part of that Crimson Tide heritage."

RIP Stan. He was not only a great player but he was a great person. He received the Medal of Freedom two years ago. He looked at the Medal of Freedom as his greatest achievement, above everything he did in baseball. This is truly a sad day.

SI did a great piece on him in this week's issue. I may hate StL, but Musial is simply one of the all-time greats.  Would have been a treat to see him play in his heydey.

This. I'm a Giants fan, but I can respect how he played and carried himself.
