If you all don't mind me asking, why do you hate Malzahn so badly? I am just curious.

i cant speak for everyone but for me he was brought into a bad situation with nutt. he was used as a tool to get recruits nutt needed to save his job but didnt really want. it divided the fan base and his wife is a complete embarrassment to any school he coaches for. i dont like him because he divides the fan base in arkansas.

He's done absolutely nothing noteworthy in his career other than have Cam Newton for a year. His whole good ole Christian boy schtick is a fraud, his offense is a complete gimmick and won't work without a dynamic QB.

You want my honest opinion on that hire? AU committed themselves to 8-5 type seasons and fighting State for mid tier in the SEC with him.

Petrino was probably the best at finesse football, and yet he couldn't beat Bama and LSU. Teams that were more physical than his.

First of all he bailed on us after a season.  Secondly it was the way he recruited our state using his old player who represented high school kids to funnel them to Auburn.  Probably the Dyer thing pissed me off more than anything else.  Then, just when I was about to forgive and forget, he s AState over after one year.  Anybody who didn't like Petrino for job hopping should hate this douchebag as well.

I never said anything about Petrino hopping myself. Did Tubbs not do the same thing to OM? Did Saban not state repeatedly that he was not going to be the head coach at Alabama? Hopping happens. Do you think any coach is ever there to stay long?

Nope, but one year is bullshit.  Especially after Freeze did the same thing to them the year before.

You misunderstood that. That wasn't directed at you. It was directed at those who think it's absolutely despicable for a coach to make a decision that better himself. Coaching is a business now. To get mad at a coach for hopping (granted a year is incredibly short) is a little unfounded. Why not skewer Saban and every other coach that has hopped if these righteous folks are only going to skewer one they way they did Petrino?

They have been skewered plenty.  It's like Freeze and Malzhan get a pass just because it's Arkansas State.  I can understand Freeze.  It was his alma mater, he was just promoted from OC the year before, and he didn't make much money.  However, ASU broke the bank to pay Malzahn what he wanted to coach there.  He promised them he was in it for the long haul, and he promised a bunch of Arkansas High School coaches the same thing.  The only good thing about him screwing over the Red Wolves is that his days of being well respected by Arkansas High School coaches is probably over.
