If someone invades your home at night with bad intentions, you want a shotgun, not a handgun. Handguns require accuracy, which is difficult, especially in low-light conditions. Shotguns require little. Just point and shoot.

Now let's say that the intruders are federal agents, like the ones who murdered that family in Ruby Ridge, Idaho. In that scenario, you'd want a rifle with a scope to make sure you could accurately shoot the trespassers. A shotgun would be ineffective at range and a handgun isn't very accurate at more than 50 yards.

Free speech would be meaningless without the ability to protect it from our leaders. That's your problem, z. You fail (or refuse) to recognize that we only have free speech as long as we can keep it, and we haven't kept it by being good little gun-less citizens. We've kept it by being an armed people that can keep our liberty by force.

I just don't get it. I honestly do not get it. I don't understand how someone that is not mentally retarded could reason with themselves that ANYONE is being protected by laws that ban the sale of certain weapons. It just blows my mind.

I hunt small game with a shotgun and small bore rifle, I hunt larger game with a small bore and large bore rifle, I shoot IDPA and IPSIC with hanndguns, I fish for pan fish with a spinning reel and bass and larger fish with baitcasters, I hammer nails with a hammer and drill holes with drill bits. Tools for the job. No different from each other. I drive a full size truck because I haul stuff.

its about the tools. I grew up with firearms and see them as useful tools. I cant help that you see them as scary death dealing penins. I have jumped threw all the hoops the state of Ga asked of me to own them in a manor I deem fit. None of them have every gone off without my knowledge or consent. None of them have committed a crime beyond trespassing. I nor they are your enemy. Its doesnt have to be more complicated than that.
