end government housing for the able bodied. End government long term welfare for the able bodied. End minimum wage at its current rate to encourage people to hirer unskilled labor. abopt the German school system of a muliti track system to encourage achievement and remove students that need baby sitters moreso than teachers.

Hmm. Let's take people in underdeveloped areas with little hope of educational or professional advancement and cut off their legal methods of sustenance.

That'll go well

we spend more money per child with less return in urban areas than we do in rural areas. And generational welfare is giving people little reason bother bettering themselves. yes a generation would suffer but moving forward it would benifit everyone.

I wish the GOP had that attitude about taxes/healthcare/anything that isn't a subsidy to corporate America or the military

I guess I would need to form a committee for ideas cause the only person to beat a mob like person was in the irs. So first I would have a seance because there is nobody alive today in public office, media or actor (dems use them all the time so why not) with the balls to take it on. I would try to bring back teddy roousevelt, rodger mudd and for an actor I guess charlton heston. It's the best I can do with what I have to work with this day and time.

Ending prohibition would go a long way towards curbing violence in cities.  1920s prohibition resulted in lots of gang violence over sales turf and associated profits and we are absolutely SHOCKED when the same thing happens with modern prohibition.

I mean really, how many times have you seen a Walgreens shoot it out with a CVS that moves in across the street?  Now how much does that happen between two drug dealers?  Think about it.

Obama has always been anti-gun PERIOD! There is no compromise in his vocabulary.

When Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) was seeking state office a dozen years ago, he took unabashedly liberal positions: flatly opposed to capital punishment, in support of a federal single-payer health plan, against any restrictions on abortion, and in support of state laws to ban the manufacture, sale and even possession of handguns.

Filling out a 12-page questionnaire [part 1 of questionnaire, part 2 of questionnaire] from an Illinois voter group as he sought a state Senate seat in 1996, Obama answered “yes” or “no” — without using the available space to calibrate his views — on some of the most emotional and politically potent issues that a public official can confront.

“Do you support … capital punishment?” one question asked.

“No,” the 1996 Obama campaign typed, without explaining his answer in the space provided.

“Do you support state legislation to … ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns?” asked one of the three dozen questions.

“Yes,” was Obama’s entire answer.

Gun control is not the answer because it is not the problem.
The problem is the abhorrent moral decay in America.  It is spawning children with no parental guidance, lack of family values, no respect for anything (particularly the law), and the idea that you should take what you want.  Couple that with a society filled with drugs and violence, which is glamorized by movies, video games, and TV programs, and look what it is getting us.  There are crazies who eventually act on these influences in their lives.  Tighten up on violence, sexual exploitation, and gun use in the media, significantly upgrade the mental health system to detect and help the crazies before they act, and embellish family and morality in the nation, then we might see some changes.
